Historic Day! We may be getting a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution. This amendment would be one of the most important in our history. Essentially the main issue is that it was supposed to be ratified before 1982 to become law. Unfortunately, only 35 states ratified it then. However, Nevada has since ratified it in 2017, Illinois followed in 2018, and now Virginia has in 2020. Supported say that the timeframe isn’t a part of the actual law itself, so it can be thrown out, while the US Justice Department (under Trump) will seek to disallow it. Moreover, Alabama, Louisiana, and South Dakota (Hard Red States) will launch legal challenges to block it. Honestly, that says so much about what the GOP is and stands for at this point.

You’ve never heard straddle . You can’t watch Slalom in the US without hearing it, or Equestrian for that matter.

@Sindo I recommend adding a search function, so I could put in a name like “Adam Hofstedt” and scroll through the various posts (results) that include a particular athlete. It would also be nice to search other things like “Individual 10km”, or “2020 Youth Olympics”, etc.

Yes, when there was no (at least officially) international federation, Red Bull was pretty much in charge. They’d have 4/5 big events a season and that was it. Then they introduced the Riders Cup (early days of the IF) which were mostly 250 events. Last season they changed to the current format 3/4 1000 events, there was only one 500, and 2/3 250 events. Now, we have a bunch more of events, many more countries entering, and the sport is cheaper. The 500 races will be broadcast in the above format. The 1000 races will be the full broadcast format. Most 250s will not be broadcast, but the Russian and Finish federations are very active, so their’s will probably be broadcast in full.

There should be three 1000 events? They only mean for their to be 2/3 1000 events. They want more 500/250 events.

People also didn’t like that they weren’t shinny like the ones in Rio and Pyeongchang. Olympic ticket design is always fun. As we always conclude around here, some will like, some won’t, and many don’t care either way.

Like everything, I got in artistic debate over the look of the tickets yesterday with people in my Going To Tokyo 2020 group (which is now up to 400!). I love the simplistic design of the tickets, but many didn’t. Most people wanted anime, or rising sun, or other stuff that I just find overtly stereotypical and not pertaining to the Olympics.
