  1. Yep, really glad I woke up two hours early for this one
  2. Little dirty from Elisa...
  3. I’d be inclined to say alpacas. They better make the daily highlights. Race is down to a select group at the front. There goes Van Der Breggen!
  4. Dutch decided to cut the crap, so now the actual race can start.
  5. Every men’s/women’s road race at the Commonwealth Games ever. It doesn’t really bother me, though I wish the Icelandic ladies would give me a little more to cheer for.
  6. Feel like I’ve seen that graphic before...
  7. Solid qualification system. I like that they use SA/CAC Games for qualification.
  8. Yeah, I’m with y’all on this one, this feels way too excessive. I like that Panam Sports are giving the Junior Pan Am Games purpose and prestige, but it shouldn’t detract from the ability of senior/elite athletes to qualify for their respective Games.
  9. Y’all are going to have to tell me how accurate this is.
  10. I understand that broadcasters confuse riders nationality from time to time, but come on, the flag is on screen. Now, in fairness to NBC, I do believe Kung represented Liechtenstein earlier in his career. Edit: Yep, sure enough, he represented Liechtenstein at the 2011 Games of the Small States of Europe. He didn’t win either of the gold medals at those Games however. Bob Jungels beat him in both the road race (single rider breakaway, won by 2 minutes), and the time trial (by a gap of 1:12).
  11. You’ll post the entry on this thread when the entry window opens. @heywoodu is being his typical lazy self, and forgetting to post the timetable and such (We peer pressured him into starting this thread before he was ready I think )
  12. Perhaps @Manulete could come back for Chile.
  13. Oh, you didn’t include Spain on your list above. Apologies.
  14. @Vojthas Are you going to participate in your first “real” TISC?
  15. Yeah me too, but if cuts have to be made, I’d rather it be there than events, athletes, sports, venues, etc.
  16. Regarding how the IOC will deal with Covid... The idea right now is: - If an athlete tests positive, they will be removed from the Games, and their quota will be reallocated if possible. - If there is a vaccine available, athletes will most likely be forced to take it if they wish to compete at the Games. There’s a bunch of other countermeasures too, but these seemed like ones to make note of.
  17. We’ll see. I think they’re taking more about banners outside venues, banners in places people can’t see, etc. I do agree they might be less creative with the obstacles though.
  18. Where did you read that? I haven’t been able to find specifics on the ceremonies.
  19. So the IOC approved 50 measures suggested by the LOC to simplify the 2020 Summer Olympics. Coates also suggested these may become permanent changes for future Games as well. @intoronto and I are still working on trying to find a full list of the measures, but here’s some of the more interesting ones we’ve come across so far: - Reduction of officials attending the Games by 10-15% - No athlete/team welcome ceremonies in the Olympic Village - Venue decoration decreased by 30-40%
  20. The IWF apparently hid well over a 100 doping samples from athletes during Aján’s time in power. https://www.insidethegames.biz
  21. That’s going to be such a world class facility. Bobsleigh track right there next to cross country/biathlon center. Plus a nice lodge to top it all off.
