have to play back-to-back games in baseball today because of the rescheduling. It’s going to be a long day for those players.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting into Wikipedia editing a while back, and then I looked at the multi-sport games and Olympic projects, and gave that a hard pass. I’d love to converse with those people, like I do with y’all on here, but I’m not trying to get into the quagmire of editing debates and rules.

I think they don’t for a variety of reasons and concerns. My guess is that they’re worried about looking inept or incapable of organizing a sport they willingly took over for starters. I’m not saying they would if they were to punish biased judges and referees, but I think that concern exists for them. I would also imagine they want to maintain a good relationship with boxing judges and referees, so they have people willing to staff tournaments. A boycott, strike, etc. by referees and judges could really complicate things. I’m sure there’s a dozen other concerns like those too.

Teqball works a little better with pairs in my opinion. FITEQ sponsored ATR while I was working there, so I probably have more exposure to the sport and athletes than most. I think a good pairs match entertaining enough. The sport still seems a bit odd to me as well.

Healey makes it 1-1 for Great Britain in gold medal matches this morning. She had a great round of shooting.

Roner winning gold in women’s compound is a bit of a surprise. Gibson couldn’t find the ten ring in those last two sets though.

@mrv86 if you’re basing the shooting quotas off the Wikipedia page, I’m not sure those are entirely accurate. I remember thinking they didn’t respect the rule about a single shooter earning more than one quota for their country (ie. you can qualify another quota once already qualified). I’ve attached the allocations I made under my interpretation of the qualification document above. I don’t know if that changes the allocations any. I just wanted to bring your attention to the matter. @intoronto might have some input here as well?

It might be more difficult for PanamSports to include them since the Pan American Games have become a major Olympic qualification event. I really like the Centro Caribe Sports has opened the door to their teams though.

De Lara and Schreuders look to have tied for the first shared gold medal of the Games. De Lara had a better move to the wall that made up the few milliseconds Schreuders had on him. It looks like they will share the Games Record as well

Their federation has so much egg on their face it’s actually funny. I know money is tight in these smaller programs, but the women’s team continues to shine. They should be rewarded for their excellence performances, not told the coffers are dry because money went to the men’s team.

won both gold medals in Rugby 7s. I guess they had to win a tournament at some point (men) came very close to upsetting Mexico and making the semifinals this morning. I didn’t see the game, but maybe there’s hope they might make it to the Pan American Games in 2027.
