  1. Okay, but that is the majority of sports. I don’t think the Mesopotamians looked at a tree branch and said “I bet I could use this to vault over that bush over there.” I enjoy most sports. The beauty of multi-sport games is the diversity of the program. I don’t particularly like field hockey or fencing, but don’t think they should be off the sports program because I don’t find them appealing when others do. I would imagine there’s a significant crossover between WG and OG fans by the way. It was the public that was interested in things like breakdancing and sumo. Those drove tickets sales, with big tickets sports like lacrosse and ultimate frisbee drawing large crowds as well.
  2. won every event in rowing this morning. Not a bad way to start the day. Side note, rowing venue looks gorgeous. I’d love to visit that lake someday.
  3. Artistic swimming broadcast is now stuck in a loop of endless highlights. They must really be having technical problems at the venue.
  4. I mean…it’s the one dance discipline invited with purely competition in mind. It’s been around for decades, informally maybe, but it has a vibrant history of its own. It was one of the only sports to sell out completely at The World Games last year.
  5. Also, if want any evidence of how transcendent the film “RRR” has been, used Nantu Nantu for their free swim.
  6. wins their first medal in rowing
  7. Music turned off during performance in the duet free. They’ll probably get a redo.
  8. I get not wanting breaking the Olympics, but I’ve found enjoyable to watch both in-person and through broadcast. The judging can be annoying, but those issues are with other subjective sports too. People here just want to hate it because they’re upset with the IOC’s decision.
  9. @intoronto you’re just jealous Canada wasn’t invited
  10. Shooting suddenly has commentary on europeangames.tv
  11. has performed below my expectations in table tennis. I expected them to be a lot more dominant. Wonder if they’ll make some changes before the Pan American Games and Olympic qualification tournaments?
  12. hold their own in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay. My guess is that they won’t be allocated the necessary quotas to contest the Pan American Games, but still a great bronze medal for them in San Salvador
  13. will not get any medals, as all of their athletes have already completed competition. They only sent athletes in athletics and artistic swimming.
  14. Rabess swam a steady pace to put herself in the bronze medal battle in the women’s 1500m free, but she’s out sprinted by Perez Unfortunately, Canadian medals don’t count for the medal table
  15. Gordillo / came out of nowhere on that breaststroke leg! He takes another outside lane victory, with the Games Record (2:00.97) as well! How about for a swimming podium? Don’t think that’s seen too often.
  16. We got a 10 men final for the men’s 200m IM. It beats a two man Final B
  17. Harvey just misses out on a medal in the women’s 100m backstroke. She lead at the turn, but went out slightly too hard I think
  18. De Lara with a Games Record (1:00.23) in the men’s 100m breaststroke. It’s been a good day for Mexico. joins the medal table in the same race.
  19. is on the medal table after picking three bronze medals in judo and table tennis
  20. Anyone find stream for table tennis and judo? I haven’t been able to find any yesterday or today. I’m not sure they’re being broadcast, but I’d like to watch if they are
  21. beat in the solo technical waiting for her score now. I think she’ll win, and definitely impartial even though performed to one of my favorite Spanish songs (“Gracias A La Vida”) Edit: Silver for
  22. barely missed out on the semifinals of women’s doubles in table tennis. They won the first two sets, but came back and won the next three
  23. took an overtime loss to . I didn’t expect them to be competitive against the DR, let alone almost beat them. A very positive start to the Games in women’s basketball
