JUDO La Direzione Tecnica Nazionale, di comune accordo con la Preparazione Olimpica del CONI, ha ufficializzato i primi sei nomi degli atleti che comporranno la squadra azzurra di judo in occasione dei Giochi Olimpici Estivi di Parigi 2024. Si tratta di quattro donne e due uomini: Assunta Scutto (-48 kg), Odette Giuffrida (-52 kg), Veronica Toniolo (-57 kg), Alice Bellandi (-78 kg), Manuel Lombardo (-73 kg) e Christian Parlati (-90 kg). Il 23 giugno prossimo si concluderà il periodo di qualificazione olimpica e il 25 giugno, dopo la pubblicazione della classifica mondiale, l’International Judo Federation (IJF) darà la conferma per iscritto ai Comitati Olimpici Nazionali dei posti ottenuti. Entro il 2 luglio i NOC daranno conferma dell'utilizzo dei posti assegnati mentre il giorno successivo saranno riallocati quelli inutilizzati. Gli atleti sopracitati, tuttavia, risultano ampiamente all’interno della quota dei qualificati diretti, al punto da potersi dichiarare positivamente concluso il loro percorso di qualificazione, a prescindere dai risultati e dalle scadenze che possano ancora maturare da qui sino al 23 giugno. La nomina dei suddetti judoka nella squadra olimpica risulta definitiva, qualunque variazione possa verificarsi nell’Olympic Ranking List, anche a vantaggio di altri azzurri. Per la rosa nominata sarà a breve discusso un percorso individualizzato, atto a garantire un avvicinamento ottimale alla competizione a cinque cerchi e, ove necessario, a migliorare il posizionamento del singolo atleta nel ranking olimpico di categoria.
