  1. You're talking about something else than what the Albright video is about, I'm not denying the horrors perpetrated by the countries involved (including the US, Iraq, etc). And yes, we are similarly disgusted by Albright's comment there.
  2. Although actual research later showed that, surprise surprise, Saddam Hussein's numbers of half a million children dying due to the sanctions were just fabricated out of thin air and there was apparently not much of a significant rise in child mortality rates. Which doesn't defend Albright in any way, obviously, since she answered the question believing the number to be true and that's awful enough.
  3. wow! That guy making the winning goal must already have 10 statues in the country now that the sun is up
  4. That was an awesome final And he was 'lucky' (after being unlucky) to even be in the final! His pole broke in the semi with 50 meters or so to go and he fell from 2nd to 3rd, but his time was enough by 0.18 seconds to qualify anyway
  5. Next thing you know, children at schools are required/expected to stand up every single day and drum up some propaganda sentences about how their country is amazing and saluting a flag and such. Sounds like a Putinesque thing to introduce. About Putin, here's a nice list summing up his main accomplishments so far:
  6. Well that makes the announced boycott by butthurt Rylov even less meaningful
  7. That will teach those 17 year olds
  8. And why they haven't been able to talk to their sons in weeks after those sons were told they would be going on a regular training..
  9. Look who's getting closer and closer to walking again https://www.instagram.com/tv/CbZsVkjuIoz/?utm_medium=copy_link Fun fact: the rehabilitation process, which started last week, is basically entirely being done at Papendal, the Dutch national training center in tons of Olympic sports. The doctor and the physiotherapists there have taken Bruna in to treat her and help her get back to a normal level of sports fitness, awesome people! And the doctor happens to be the doctor of both the Dutch athletics federation and......the Dutch skiing federation, I kid you not The world is tiny.
  10. YLE shows the biathlon today, buuuutttt with their own faulty graphics: during the shooting they do show a graphic with five targets, but they don't show a number of misses Also in intermediate results: no number of misses..
  11. To be fair, being 'not very well known' and still raking in millions of dollars in sponsorship deals a year....nice
  12. Nice extensive coverage of the cross-country skiing by YLE yesterday*, like I hoped for It seems that the classic races of today can't be seen anywhere though, correct? Not on YLE, and it seems eyof.tv will only have shorttrack *they do need to learn a bit about camera work around the races and what they do and don't show...I'm fairly certain they weren't meant to show one of the athletes with the lower body entirely in the nude in the warmup/changing area...be responsible if you're a camera person.
  13. Thanks! Although by the looks of it, that's live-only, unfortunately
  14. Can the finals at least be seen somewhere?
  15. At least not in such a way that I'd pay for streams, I wonder how many people would actually do that in a relatively fringe sport like beach volleyball
  16. The official website has barely been working for two days now, so that's promising. And the results pages, if existing, only link to for example FIS pages, where there are no start lists or anything yet. I seem to remember previous EYOF's had least at that xxxx.sportresult.com system, which usually works just fine..
  17. With the greatest possible amount of non-surprise: Saturday's big fight between (criminal) super star Badr Hari and Arkadiusz Wrzosek at Glory 80 in Belgium didn't go that well. Background: last year Hari dominated Wrzosek, until the Pole hit him with a perfect head kick and knocked Hari out. Huge, huge upset. Now it was time for the rematch, in which Hari was the better one in round one. Then in round two, again almost out of nowhere, Wrzosek hit him with a beautiful switch knee and sent Hari down for a couple of seconds, although they finished the round. Then hell broke loose. Polish 'fans' (actually just mindless hooligans who were not there to watch a fight, but to fight) took off their shirts and started throwing chairs and what not towards the Moroccans. As we see literally every single time Hari fights, his fans are not the most.....de-escalating type, so to say, so mayhem ensued. Both sides were being utterly disgusting, the fighters for a minute pretended to want things to calm down, but then cheered their sides on. Only the coaches of both sides stood together in trying to stop the mess, but without success and so the fight was cancelled. Unfortunately not only that fight, but also the main event was cancelled. Which sucks balls, because Jamal Ben Saddik vs Levi Rigters promised to be awesome. I know these kind of things bring attention and so money, I guess, so that's probably good in some sense. But otherwise: why does Glory keep falling for Hari and believing his fights will out of nowhere be a semi-civil affair if they've never ever been? And this time with an opponent who has half a hooligan squad with him...ugh.
  18. Official website just points to FIS pages for the results, but there are no start lists yet. Surely the TCM's have happened for tomorrow..
  19. Right, we start tomorrow. Anyone find the results system yet?
  20. Unsurprisingly the Asian Talent Cup always provides for great racing and there's always excellent talents coming out of it! Often they're above average in terms of rain skills as well
  21. Hopefully a good amount of Thai fans there as well to witness the first ever Thai Grand Prix winner earlier today
  22. Jereem Richards' gold is going to be one of my highlights of the year, barely two months after the death of his team mate and buddy Deon Lendore!
  23. Interesting to read this while waiting for the MotoGP to start, after being delayed by at least a full hour due to heavy rain Tiny bit of weather at Mandalika.
  24. Yeah, that has been one of the main things this season. I truly wonder where that's coming from, obviously Vittozzi is not a bad biathlete by any stretch of the imagination, but this season it's utterly terrible in terms of specifically her first prone shooting bout... One would almost imagine there's some serious personal issue in the background that's going on, it's nonsense to think it's just a matter of "she's not mentally strong" for example. I hope she can get rid of this...
