  1. Earlier this month there were reports Taiwan could actually use Taiwan and the Taiwanese flag, what's with this bullshit with the flag of non-existing Chinese Taipei then?
  2. Wait, where can I watch? Nothing on FISU's website
  3. My focus is definitely on live sports (World Superbikes at the moment), but I'll tune in to this as well
  4. Like now, I doubt BMC and Quick-Step, the two top favorites for the TTT win, have the top favorite GC contender (not like there's one big GC favorite anyway)
  5. Oh well, it's a 13km team time trial, that's not going to be a ton of fun anyway (team time trials should be way, way, way longer)
  6. Because mistakes can be made, unfortunately. I have no doubt 99% of potential attacks are stopped, a lot of them because suspected people were not arrested but continued to be watched (leading to more and more information, which could eventually stop a major attack or expose a network or something). Sadly, there are always cases where someone slips through the observations.
  7. Too bad that they're replacing the archeological museum with this futuristic horror of a 'modern architecture' building, right next to the arena..
  8. Oh and the start is in France by the way, in Nîmes to be exact. Do turn on your TV, I can tell from experience that Nîmes has some truly beautiful sights (especially the Roman arena)
  9. Start list for the first stage, at the end of the afternoon
  10. Yes, and if you arrest everyone as soon as you have them on the 'radar', you are highly likely to lose a lot more lives, because you'll miss a huge amount of valuable information. It's just not smart, at all, to arrest everyone who is suspicious as soon as you find them.
  11. People who are observed are observed because they've done suspicious things, in general. Which doesn't automatically make someone guilty.
  12. In a World Cup? That's new I always thought most athletes in all these X-Games sports that have no place at the Olympics didn't give two shits about stuff like World Cups or events organized by the recognized federation
  13. I have a feeling World Cups mean absolutely nothing in BMX freestyle and definitely don't have the best in the world competing
  14. And how about many of the terrorists, who were born in France or Belgium for example?
  15. Schedules per day can be found like this, without needing the awful Taipei 2017 website: https://data.2017.gov.taipei/atos/prod/eng/zz/engzz_general-daily-competition-schedule-date=2017-08-19.htm Then only change the date at the end.
  16. You notice that this specific link goes to a page that's not all integrated in that awful Taipei 2017 website, right? That means it should in theory be possible to go to the general schedule/results/athletes page too, without using the one integrated in the Taipei 2017 website...just gotta figure out how In case I'm not clear: many multi-sports events have the sportresult.com thing embedded/integrated in their website, but you can simply go to eventxxx.sportresult.com and get rid of the official website, leaving only the schedule/results page, like this: https://worldgames2017.sportresult.com/nh/en/-120
  17. Yep, left, right, everywhere indeed.
  18. Steve Bannon fired by Trump Trump is turning the White House into the most important circus ever, what a clown (not that any sane person did not see that coming, but still)
  19. I guess it's hard to know where these teams are in terms of performance, given that basically they never play against each other (unlike 'normal' national teams). It would have been nicer from a betting perspective if USA sent some Division 3 teams again and bookmakers would think 'oh they're Americans, they're really good!', opening a good chance to make the bookies poorer
  20. Exactly. It's sort of what you see on a 'terror night' like in London a while back: every fart is suddenly being brought onto Twitter and everything as 'explosion reported'. Now that might be true if someone had a particularly bad dinner, but most of the times the extra reports in such a night are nothing out of what you might ordinarily see in any given night. With which I don't mean to say there's no problem, obviously, there definitely is and it's not getting any better at all.
  21. Quick look on NCAA's website suggests Maryland's women's basketball is one of the best and Purdue's men's basketball is definitely rather good as well, interesting.
  22. Are those good colleges/universities in those respective (team) sports?
  23. Also rather hard is that killings, including stabbings, happen quite often. In these days though, every single smaller 'thing' becomes big news whereas a few years ago nobody would have given two fucks about someone in Finland or the Netherlands or Germany being stabbed in a random place.
  24. You're about a half year behind buddy, Perkins announced this in February I believe
  25. Did you expect Putin would refuse?
