  5. tbh, there's nothing new or underdeveloped in 3x3 basketball...but this isn't the real 3x3 basketball, the same kind of game you can find in all the playgrounds around the world (and especially the big US cities, NY and L.A. above all)... it's just the same fiba basketball, but played by only 3 men/women per team... and this qualification system is just criminal...to say the least...

  7. very disappointing performance by Asia Lanzi...she only ended up the semifinal round in 10th place overall and so she wasted her best chance to sum up quite a few points in the OQR (even if actually I don't know if it would be better to see her finishing last at the Olympics or not seeing her in Tokyo at all)...

  11. do you mean Elisa Iorio? nothing too serious, luckily... she had a spraine ankle at the vault...she still has to undergo the usual medical examination, but the Italian federation released a note stating it's nothing to worry about...
  12. tbh, I don't know why they didn't use a few of the many "dome" (indoor) stadiums they have in Japan to avoid a situation like this... I mean, they should have had at least a plan B...it's well known that the end of september/beginning of October is typhoon time in that area... and if a match between ITA and NZL can be considered useless (even if actually ITA still had an unrealistic mathematical/theoretical chance to qualify), FRA vs ENG must be played no matter how, otherwise we can say already from now that we have a farce of a tournament, with 2 teams that could have changed completely the knockout stage table draw depending on the outcome of their direct match-up and now they also have a really tough game less in their legs and more recovery time than their opponents, who already played all of their preliminary stage matches...
  13. guys! I didn't mean literally where did you find that news? I just meant what's new in an Italian boxer being robbed in the last 10 years? by the way, both robberies stayed unpunished...bith times Italy made appeal and both times said appeal was rejected... p.s. OA has quite a few weak points, but it's still not only the best, it's the only reliable (under some circumstances) Italian sport website... Gazzetta 3000...ops...I mean, la Gazzetta dello Sport's website is only good to look at Diletta Leotta and Wanda Nara's naked pictures...

  20. Grand Slam (Brasilia, BRA) Day #3 Recap Teddy Riner's comeback was the absolute highlight of the 3rd and final day of the Brasilia Grand Slam tournament... and he put on quite a show, destroying all of his opponents, starting with a Japanese guy (OK, not their best representative, but still...), following with a very tough Russian as Inal Tasoev and in the semifinal the newly crowned World Champion, Lukas Krpalek... then, in the final he had to face local hero David Moura...and it only took 20 seconds to the great Teddy to send the Brazilian with his back to the mat for an astonishing ippon... he came back in Montreal in July and dominated the field (as usual)...then this week he destroyed the man who now walks around with the world champion's crown (and anybody else who was on his route to success)... tbh, I'm starting thinking what the hell the French Federation was doing when they decided to leave him out of their World Championship's team? I don't think it was really a question of injuries and/or poor training as they said...there must be a lot more behind that very strange decision... by the way, Brazil won 1 more Gold Medal also on the last day of the tournament thanks to Beatriz Sousa (women's +78kg), which elevated their total to 4 Gold Medals, number that obviously gave them the top of the Medal Table at the end of the Tournament... Yesterday's remaining Gold Medals, instead, went to Cuba (Kaliema Antomarchi, women's -78kg), Spain (Nikoloz Sherazadishvili, men's -90kg) and Japan (Kentaro Iida, men's -100kg), which means that in the Final Medal Table, following the dominating Home Nation, we have Japan with 2 Gold Medals and a bunch of Nations (8) with 1 Gold Medal each ( Colombia, Cuba, France, Great Britain, Italy, Portugal, Russia and Spain)... Full Results, here: http://www.ippon.org/gs_bra2019.php
  21. and now it's 151, since he won his semifinal match against the recently crowned World Champion, Lukas Krpalek... in the Gold Medal match he's going to face local hero David Moura, who beat Rafael Silva in an all-Brazilian affair in the other semifinal match... p.s. for those who are interested, as usual, the entire tournament is available on Youtube... here are tonight's finals (just started as I write this post)...
  22. Grand Slam (Brasilia, BRA) Day #2 Recap 4 weight classes contested in day #2 of the Brasilia Grand Slam tournament...and 4 different Nations on top of them... Brazil still managed to win 1 more Gold Medal (Ketleyn Quadros, women's -63kg) and obviously still lead the Medal Table after 9 of the 14 events with 3 Gold Medals... Yesterday's remaining Gold Medals, instead, went to Colombia (Yuri Alvear, women's -70kg), Russia (Musa Mogushkov, men's -73kg) and Japan (Takanori Nagase, men's -81kg) Full Results, here: http://www.ippon.org/gs_bra2019.php
