  1. what happened to the 4*400 m runs ???
  2. yes great jump he seems to approaching olympic qualification which is 16.8 or so ..............
  3. mens 800 m - great effort by jinson - 1:47.56 ........ a good effort by asian standards( gold at asian games 1.47.5 ) and indian standards ...three atheletes below 1:48 is awesome ...... as the qualification for 800 m is 1.46...... again a possible olympic qualification
  4. 800m women- as expected win by tintu 2:01.84 not close to her personal best ...but she was miles ahead of the rest so I guess no one to push her
  5. 200 m women .....................great race so exciting ...really a photofinish .......................... 23.39 -srabani , 23.41- dutee , 23.42 - Jyothi ............................. three women so close to qualification 23.20 ...... I feel confident that one of them will break away to do the qualification ............................... for example here duttee had a very slow start ...............if she had a fast start then she can definately shave .1 to .2 which shoudl bring her to qualification
  6. 200m men - dharambhir wins with a reasonable speed 21.02......................... with the olympic qualification at 20.50 .. I feel he is also close to the olympic qualification timing and can do it ......................
  7. really Doordarshan sports can be so unprofessional that they do not give the time even after the medal ceremony ..... and after the ceremony they still seem to talking about who is first on live TV ????????????????
  8. what is the final time ...................seems unofficially announced at 23.40 ...... but seems to personal best for jyothi ...... so we may have 3 runners at 23.3-23.4 ....... I feel only a matter of time before one breaks the Olympic qualification of 23.2 .................. also would like to see what is the 4*100 relay with these players
  9. second event of the afternoon ( 400mh women ) ....... not a great time by jauna 58.6 on a olympic qualification 56.20
  10. First event of the afternoon (400mh men )...a very creditable time of 49.94 by jithin paul in the 400m hurdles ........................ olympic qualification time was 49.40... the asian games gold was 49.71 .................
  11. Afternoon session starting now you can watch live at http://vuroll.com/play/livetv/DD-Sports_1894
  12. Update from the federation Cup day ( last day ) -1st update The morning section is over and the stadium prepares or the afternoon section Morning 05.45 HRS 10000M WOMEN - results Swati came first with a meet record timing 32:53:73 ..... somewhat close to 32:15 Olympic qualifying time- 37 seconds away not a huge factor in the 10000m she should be watched in the coming events as she can qualify 06.30HRS 10000M MEN- results - lakshmanan finished at 29:57 relatively far from the qualification 28:00 08:50 HRS 200M MEN ( S.FINAL)- dharambir ran the best time of 21.09 ...... lower than his prelim heat time as the finals is today he may be saving himself up for the final 09:20 HRS 200 M WOMEN ( S.FINAL)- event was not held do less pax Afternoon ( orange represents areas of interest ...... red - possible qualification chances 16.00 HRS HIGH JUMP MEN 16.00 HRS 400M HURDLES MEN - Jithin and Durgesh 16.15 HRS 400M HURDLES WOMEN- ashwini and jauna 16.35 HRS 200M MEN - watch out for Dhrambir - 20.93 qualifying time - Olympic time 20.50 16.50 HRS 200M WOMEN- watch out for Duttee chand - 23.34, srabani -23.36 in prelims - Olympic time 23.20 17.00HRS SHOT PUT WOMEN 17:00 HRS DISCUS THROW MEN 17.05 HRS TRIPLE JUMP MEN _ renjith and arpinder 17:25HRS 800M WOMEN 17.30 HRS JAVELIN THROW WOMEN - suman rani has done 59.45 Olympic qualification - 62 17.35 HRS.800M MEN 17.50HRS 4X400MTS RELAY WOMEN NATIONAL TEAM - needs to get 3:30 or below to be back int he qualification race 18.00 HRS TRIPLE JUMP WOMEN - 14.09 in recent times needs 14.15 to qualify 18.05 HRS 4X400MTS RELAY MEN NATIONAL TEAM - need to see what is the best they can do with the really fast times we have seen in this meet
  13. tomorrows key finals in the federation cup from a qualification perspective I am looking forward to seeing dutte chand in the 200 m final ...she was in good form in the prelims and she was really fast in the 100m in the last strech dharambir singh in the 200m finals is going to be interesting renjith maheshwari / ar[inder in triple annu rani in javelin ( the throw conditions seems poor so less hopes ) mayookha in triple ( she did not participate in long jump I feel she is saving herself for the triple ) tomoorow I think there may also be a special trial for the relay team ( I had read it in a news item but there is no mention of it on the website ...is this event there ?? )
  14. I there were many many others who had the same issue .............are they all going to be disqualified
  15. .....also important from a seeding perspective for the olymics she needs to climb back to the top 4
  16. interestingly Duttee chand would qualify as of now ( she would be around 50th from the target list of 56 ) .......... for the olympics with her time as a secondary qualifier based on the target numbers for 100m women ..............
  17. I have been following this on wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weightlifting_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Qualification I think we are now surely there in the mens ............................................................................ 4/5/6 by the end of the qualifications as per my calculations
  18. Update from the 5th day at the olympic qualifiers womens - performance as usual we finished second in the qualifying list Rakhi haider 196 ...not a great effort in terms of world ...as I confirmed yesterday we will surely finish second in the list after vietnam ( and almost surely send maikhom to the olympics ) Mens weightlifting - I am extremely happy to announce due to outstanding performances ( amongst the qualification nations ) by Vikas thakur ( finished second )- 25 points and Venkata Ragala ( finished 5th ) - 21 points .............. with this as I have been saying if we get 6 weightlifters to cross an average of 19 points or above... we now have that .... now we should be safe with this wonderful lifts ..... I am happy to say that Indian weightlifting quota ( which started with poor lifts in the lower categories ) is almost 99% sure of their Quota - ............ Currently we rose to be 3rd in the qualification list ( for the first time since the beginning of the competition ) ..... but surely Japan and most probably Turkmenistan and some chance of saudi to overtake us ..........so we will likely finish 4/5/6 but we will be in the top 7 ..... the 1% chance is in an extremely unlikely combination if the last couple of weightlifters of produce some extraordinary lifts to push us back ............................. but I believe that combination chance is almost zero
  19. The points are 28 for first place , 25 for second place 23 for third then 22 ,21 ......... this event is little confusing as the lifters from nations who have already qualified then get excluded ...... then the points are calculated .... Vikas should get 25 points if my calculations are correct but I need to recheck at the end of the event ..... I estimate that india needs around 115 points or more to calculate ..... but then out of 8 the best 6 will be taken ........ so it is a true team effort like cricket runs adding up to a team total ........................ asking total is 115 and best 6 out of 8 batsmens scores calculated
  20. actually from the qualification list he is in second place as all the other nations have already qualified except qatar I think ......need to check the list again
  21. here you go http://www.iwf.net/scoreboard/scoreboard3.php
  22. event still going on mens .......will update in 40 minutes
  23. a sub 53 s by anilda and 53.06 by poovamma is good news for the relay 4*400 ...and this isthe semis possibly they would go faster in the finals
  24. really awesome performance ......................... 2 national records in one day ................... I wish they had also hit the qualifying marks but with this kind of scores they would probably do better in the next event ................ This also says that the atheletics grand prix scores ( handheld ) were not a fluke ................. Anas was also close to the national record ....................... I would also like to see the 400 meters scores closely as then they may affect our 4*400 meter and relay performances
  25. thanks buddy ......................
