Could really put the funding level under a lot of pressure. There a lot of people who want it cut and any excuse to argue for that point will be taken.

That will cause major issues, UK Sport will be obliged to cut funding if they don’t make top 5.

Also I think Laura Kenny saying 8 golds has made things worse as it has put more pressure on the Cycling Team who are in good shape but not sensational shape.

Starting become an issue that we are dropping every gold the BBC really buildup. The public will see that as a GB falling and that is when things become toxic. Meanwhile the shock golds continue to happen.

Sinden was awful and I wouldn’t expect him to win the bronze match.

We are stumbling towards a dreadful ending towards this games. The press reaction will be fascinating- - we could have a 10 or more medal drop and a huge Gold drop with how things are going.

We will finish with more medals ( Including for some games golds) than games widely seen as big success’s. But after setting such high expectations in the last 3 these are going to be seen as the team going backwards. If they don’t get top 5 then they will be a lot of scrutiny on why they failed to reach one of the targets.

I really don’t see any medals in that sport. You need luck in that and Team GB don’t have much of it at the moment.

Even a bronze would be fantastic for her and end her carrer on a high (With Pozzi having retired I’m assuming she is as well).

Considering the funding they get it’s going to be massive disaster. Sure it they going to lose funding.

Sailing is so highly funded - surely needs a major review into where that money is going. Also we have out in double the money put in for Athens but won’t get double the number of golds.

I really don’t see us catching the Aussies. We have a better chance of catching the French maybe but we still have to right of the South Koreans, Japanese and the Dutch. The Dutch are finishing very strongly.
