  1. The hurdle events don’t work for having a flat race. It’s not mixing people with different skills in the way the other events do. It’s the biggest flaw alongside doing it in a stadium where have the races start with trees behind the runners which doesn’t make it feel epic.
  2. I need to follow atheltics more. Of the guess challengers this time arround I only recognise a couple of names
  3. He is not 14. He is at least 18 months older than his claimed age.
  4. I imagine grand slam track are particularly unhappy to have not got Grant Holloway for them. As well as Faith Kipyegon.
  5. It’s hard to say who they could have taken they are few possible wildcards. Kara Hanlon a breastroker maybe?
  6. Unlike Athletics Swimming seems to keep a tight lid on dissent among those who miss out.
  7. GB only taking 28 when they could have taken 30.
  8. Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.
  9. That quota I’ve been told by an athlete aiming to qualify who I know online.
  10. I’ve been told there are no straight finals planned for the swimming.
  11. I’m suprsied the games is still that big!
  12. Atheltics is not having such small numbers for its track events so swimming has been shortchanged having to have straight finals of just 8.
  13. They corrected that afterwards. Freya Anderson ahd to be told she hadn’t qualified the 4x100 but had qualified the mixed.
  14. Also GB didn’t reach its target in the 4x100 women relay or the medley so those places might be rejected.
  15. India should re add triathlon so they can show the IOC they can handle that event in the Olympics.
  16. The commentary was talking about this during the worlds and they expected it to happen in time for next year.
  17. Two of those were close. Palmer was second three times at the PGA Championship and won the other 3, Watson was second once at the PGA Championshp and won the other 3. Norman only ever won the Open (Twice) but was second multiple times at each of the other 3. Back in their era Golf was a bit less predictable than it now where it’s no longer surprising if someone wins a tournament one year and finishes 40th or something the next. (As the 2023 winner Jon Rahm did last year) If someone does that in any other sport it’s still rather surprising. (Even in tennis).
  18. I’m not sure they will bring back ranking points. The reason they were axed is because of the nationality limits and those remain.
  19. Because of Wimbeldon I thought Tennis was moving to the second week anyway? Not sure it will have quite as good attendance starting just a week after Wimbledon ends. (Assuming its finals are the 8th and 9th July).
  20. I have an online friend who is a rower in the USA. He thought it was a late April Fools when I told him about the 2032 plan for rowing.
  21. In the UK the Fours are definitely the more iconic but the Eights are still very popular.
  22. That will be very unpopular in the rowing community.
  23. Swimming has 100 more quotas for Women than Men solely because of the large teams Synchronised. The mixed team in Gymnastics will be wild.
  24. Tennis becomes a Mixed Event rather than Mixed Doubles it seems. (Table Tennis is still Mixed Doubles). I
