  1. Although GBR seem to have moved to 6th in the nations ranking? Which would give them 2 places in Tokyo?
  2. Pidcock has already said that he is only going to start the MTB event in Tokyo. By the way does anybody know how many places the GB women have in MTB? 1 or 2?
  3. I think everybody else who made the qualifying time in the men's race were already in
  4. I was told this a few minutes ago. "No Slovakian riders finished above 63rd so the Romanian rider had to finish 24th or better to move above them in the nation rankings releasing a place to Britain via the U23 2019 World Cup results"
  5. Men's 50km walk Podebrady, CZE Marc Tur 3:47,40 Aleksi Ojala 3:48.25 Andrea Agrusti 3:49,52
  6. Los Angeles, USA Women's 1500m Kate Snowden 4:02.98
  7. Men's 10000m Los Angeles, USA Zouhair Taibi 27:20.61 https://finishedresults.trackscoreboard.com/meets/10061/events/1/Final
  8. Don't expect anything from GB in the men's event. Denmark should win. Women's event will be decided by the form of Chloe Dygert. If she's recovered well from her crash last year she has the potential to lead her team to victory or destroy them by being too strong for her US teammates.
  9. Not convinced GB will be good enough to challenge for anything except bronze in the men's event. Dutch gold here.
  10. Interesting to remember that in 2017 92% of Japanese supported the Games. Might be the highest percentage ever.
  11. Alex Rose was reported tonight as having broken the world discus record by throwing 79m. Unfortunately the real distance was 59m
  12. There's an interesting theory I've been hearing from a few people. High ranking officials in the IWF are convinced they will lose their positions when the IWF is reorganized this year so they're using this as a way of gaining support. The theory goes that the Court of Arbitration for Sport will have to let all the lifters who would have qualified if the rules hadn't changed compete in Tokyo because the rule change was unfair. Which means small weightlifting nations will gain places and they'll be grateful enough to the people who changed the rules to vote for them in the next election. To be honest, I doubt this is true but it's still an interesting theory.
  13. Can anyone confirm that the IWF changed their qualifying method today? I hear some Spanish people angry that Lidia Valentina does not qualify anymore
  14. Yes, This year there was no rule that you had to finish the final to qualify for the Olympics.
  15. Those mascots really can't dance. No rhythm at all.
  16. It was definitely an effort to do something...
