  1. Those are pretty decent margins! Keeping in mind of course this is the AWG. But she obviously has SOME class. I wonder how well she shoots. She did an interview where she was proud that she shot a reindeer and both shooting a reindeer and a biathlon target successfully have the same good feeling http://www.npr.org/sections/parallels/2016/03/12/469983624/at-arctic-winter-games-biathlons-stick-pulls-and-sledge-jumps And it seems the other athlete competed last year twice and both times finished dead last, though she was like 16 at the time.
  2. Haha. Although let's hope the Bosnians race, too, it would be somewhat of a battle with Serbia... About Greenland one of their athletes is Uiloq Slettemark's 15 year old daughter who competed at the Arctic Winter Games apparently.
  3. Let's hope she can get there! I will be watching. By the way it looks like there might be a relay of Serbian women...Godspeed Though Maja Drndic has had some decent results and is improving quite a bit since last year.
  4. I hope you don't mind I'm abandoning Brazil as my team for this one race because Greenland Still wish well on Gabi of course! I agree if she shoots clear she could make the pursuit.
  5. You're right! That in itself would be quite a milestone By the way there's a cross country skier from Egypt who looks like he is trying to qualify: http://www.vismaskiclassics.com/news/helmy-egypt-takes-ski-classics
  6. Point of interest, as well: There was an athlete from Uruguay, Philip Schmid (not to be confused with the German WC racer) who competed in a FIS race in 2013, and I messaged him on Facebook about whether he will try and qualify, he says that 'he would love to' but he's studying at the moment and doesn't have much time to train so he 'probably' won't try qualifying this year. He said he'd let me know if he does, though. Apparently he lives in Switzerland now.
  7. Also Bermuda could be back for 2018, but it's a longshot. They have a few freestyle skiiers who aren't doing too badly. https://data.fis-ski.com/global-links/search-a-athlete.html?listid=&lastname=&gender=ALL&sector=&firstname=&nation=BER&status=ALL&fiscode=&birthyear=&Search=Search&limit=50 And I know Puerto Rico will probably reject their quotas, but it is worth mentioning they do have an athlete near qualification position currently. I mean you never know. https://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/athlete-biography.html?sector=AL&listid=&competitorid=210830
  8. Qatar apparently has a curling team now which competed at the Mixed Doubles World Champs: http://www.dw.com/en/qatari-curlers-aiming-for-winter-olympics/av-19197290 Think they're just a BIT too optimistic about their prospects.
  9. Yeah. I'm half-joking, they seem like a very efficient federation who gets things done. (*most things*)
  10. Maybe I'll write to them and ask. But they won't respond. Just to screw with people. Because that's what they do. Because they're the IBU.
  11. IBU.... screwing with people since 1993
  12. Oh? But 4 trimesters ago would still be the previous semester, no? It's weird, so if they remove them after 5 trimesters of not competing, but only points 3 trimesters ago count, what would be their IBU points score between 3 and 5?
  13. There's one thing I don't get, so are the points only valid for the 3 latest trimesters, or for the 3 latest trimesters that the athlete competed in? Because they only get removed after 5 trimesters not competing, instead of 3. So could someone who scored under 125 four trimesters ago still be considered eligible for the WC, assuming he did not compete in the three trimesters after that?
  14. The Slovenians actually got lapped, and Andreja Mali spent a few minutes discussing with the race officials, and then they let her ski to the finish line. Her team had champagne waiting for her, it was her last race ever
  15. A top 10 would I guess hinge on Fialkova and Kuzmina going all-out and not losing any ground on the leaders. Poliakova's a good shot, but she's slow... Nothing to do about that, just damage limitation really. And Ivona needs to shoot well, too. But I do think a good result is possible Won't be watching the race though have to get up early tomorrow so Good luck!
  16. We should find out at some point. By the way, how are you feeling about the Slovakian prospects in the women's relay? I personally expect a Top 10. Top 7 would be great.
  17. Any idea why? Korea was, as well.
  18. Well 5th place I'm very happy with. Krcmar amazing as always this season, Moravec and Krupcik did what they could, Slesingr I expected to shoot better but still a good performance. Also great to see Slovenia doing well, they shot amazingly, and were in the TV broadcast for a lot of the race Now the women's race... if Charvatova can pull it together, I think we have a shot at victory.
  19. Fourcade wins again
  20. A podium might be possible if we are lucky. And yeah I'm really impressed. He's becoming very consistent. Remember last year he did 2 penalty loops on the relay.
  21. Maybe it's a penalization, or a disqualification, or the target malfunctioned and they get a time bonus?
  22. I wonder, where is America? (America is my third country, I'm half American. Haha) I'm not betting but optimistic about Czech result
  23. Stursa Having great results as a team!
  24. Fantastic shooting by Hasler of Liechtenstein! 0+0+0 No one else even close shootingwise UPDATE as I say that she misses two. Still a job well done!
  25. She is doing amazingly. Especially due to her snowboarding commitments. But Slovakia is outperforming, let's be real
