  1. I actually went and wrote the Israeli Ski Federation- they said that if I fund myself and get Israeli citizenship (which I am eligible for) they will give me a platform to race in FIS races, and start funding me if I get 'elite'. Time to hit the gym. And I might move to the Northern Hemisphere in the next year.
  2. It was on Czech national news as well. The BBC, ESPN and all the major news networks are reporting about this. Unreal.
  3. And yeah we've really worked on our junior team! It's great to see, we have a strong base of athletes in the continental cups. I was a bit worried at first when the Churavy/Slavik generation died out, but we seem to be heading in the right direction. Hoping for good results in Pyongchang and here, particularly in the team sprint.
  4. Oh you're right.. Hah. I assumed Pazout just because he's generally had better results. Surprises me a little. Does Slovakia have any athletes at all?
  5. Here we go See if Germany could do a 1-2-3. Hoping Portyk and Dvorak can make top 15 or 20, Pazout and Danek maybe top 35?
  6. Damn Solano. Wanted to see the Ecuadorians Also there was another Venezuelan (only!) 5 minutes faster than Solano.
  7. Can always rely on the Russians Im hoping for a Eurosport replay at some point though. I like the commentators (and can understand them)
  8. OK, I've seen enough. I'm getting my Israeli citizenship (because my grandfather is Jewish) and applying to join their World Championship ski team as soon as possible.
  9. Oh and Paul Bragiel is that American entrepreneur who failed to qualify for Sochi for Colombia. Looks like he's back... http://blogs.wsj.com/dailyfix/2014/02/06/after-olympic-dream-ends-bragiel-still-makes-waves-in-sochi/
  10. I wake up and read all of this... If someone posts a replay on YouTube I will be eternally grateful
  11. Livestream of opening ceremony here: https://livestreaming.sapporo2017.org/index/live/sid/2a81d0097db5b3c5d5566445501687c5/lang/en/
  12. Maybe someone should make a thread for the Asian Winter Games
  13. Great to see her back! I didn't expect she would come back this year. I thought she'd continue with athletics a little while longer.
  14. Thing is racism does get overused often. Look at the state of America right now and Trump. I don't think this is the case though. Aaaand it's another gold for Shiffrin (probably). Go Slovakia!
  15. Hahaha it's hard to tell honestly, they sounded quite serious. It's hilarious nonetheless though. What they said with the South African guy was that "We're glad a tiger didn't eat him and he managed to finish". And one guy offered the other guy money if he could pronounce the Madagascar skiier's name right
  16. I think our commentators have a bit of a racism problem... Haha
  17. Ah. I will be supporting her!
  18. I've always wondered, is she Czech? Did she switch federations like Katerina Smutna?
  19. Koukalova is just Moravec doing quite well too. But the rest of the time is doing quite poorly. Surprised to see Vitkova shooting very unevenly. Not looking good for the relays, and it seems Koukalova is our only medal hope. Vitkova isn't even in the mass start, which is the first time in years I genuinely thought Koukalova was going to win that race. Can't wait to see her and Dahlmeier face off in the mass start. Also hats off to Amanda Lightfoot, getting world cup points! Britain is kind of my second team. I watch these on British Eurosport as well.
  20. I think the second one. Haha. Didn't know Jordan and Uzbekistan even had hockey teams!
  21. I think they are competing outside of hockey?
  22. Have to say I agree with Federer. What Fourcde did was very immature, especially for a world-class athlete. I bet the mixed relay will be interesting :O
  23. This man is just something else... Unfortunately he's a bit behind in points for Pyongchang. Come on Hubertus!
  24. There is a nations list on the event website! Under "race program"
