  1. I don't understand betting. So does this suggest a Dutch win by 2.5 goals is the most likely?
  2. Yeah but all the best teams still competed, right? Or in other words, shut up
  3. Which scoreline had the shortest odds?
  4. Well in that case we won the Snooker World Cup 3 times in a row and also the Golf World Cup twice. A1GP World Cup of Motorsport too (I guess it's a team sport since there was a background team and not just the driver involved ). But you get the idea, first final in a major / Olympic team sport
  5. The chance is probably at 1% but then again, before the tournament, the chance of us making the World Cup final probably stood at something like 0.1% so our chances have improved considerably
  6. Rugby was always a slightly more realistic option
  7. No, never been in a world final in a team sport before. And certainly did not think it would be hockey that would provide us with our first ever appearance in a world final. It's amazing!
  8. There is a Disney movie already in production to celebrate Ireland's penalty shoot-out success to beat Netherlands and lift the World title
  9. Thanks and sorry.... well not sorry but I am sure you will understand why
  10. OH MY GOD!!!! World Cup FINAL..... HERE WE COME!!!!
  11. Shoot-out, oh my God
  12. 1-1 going into the final quarter..... good luck girls, already very proud of you
  13. GOOOOAAAALLLL!!!!!!
  14. Ireland v Spain coming up now for a place in the World Cup final. Can't believe I am writing that sentence. Not sure if the dream run can survive another turn but I can always hope.
  15. Wow, I just noticed the status of your current weather says "Smoke"
  16. Another scorcher where I am ....
  17. Well as long as that user competes in TISC, that's the main thing.
  18. I will say it again, in respect to Ireland, you are all Eastern European, even Britain
  19. It's an amateur team so their success here is all the more sweet. I don't think even this result will change the status of hockey in Ireland but I can always hope.
  20. It's very much an Irish home-grown team. I'm not very knowledgable in hockey myself but as far as I know there are no "transferees" unless someone wants to prove me wrong.
  21. OMG!!! We are going to the semi-finals!! I can't believe it!!
  22. Shoot-out.... I have bad memories from the 2016 Olympic play-off shoot-out against China
  23. I want boxing in it's current guise to be removed from the Olympic progamme. It always had its issues but it has zero integrity these days so would rather the athlete quotas to be given to other sports.
  24. Ireland will send a team of 42 athletes, evenly split with 21 men and 21 women. Ireland will also be represented by 3 relay teams. No major medal chances I would say "bar" Thomas Barr who has an outside chance of a podium in the men's 400m hurdles. Men: Marcus Lawler (SLOT AC) - 200m Leon Reid (Menapians AC) - 200m Chris O’Donnell (North Sligo AC) - 400m; 4x400m Relay Zak Curran (DSD AC) - 800m Mark English (UCD AC) - 800m Stephen Scullion (North Belfast AC) - 10,000m Ben Reynolds (North Down AC) - 110m hurdles Thomas Barr (Ferrybank AC) - 400m hurdles; 4x 400m Relay Adam McMullen (Crusaders AC) - Long Jump Cian McManamon (Westport AC) - 20km Walk Alex Wright (Leevale AC) - 20km Walk Brendan Boyce (Finn Valley AC) - 50km Walk Sergiu Ciobanu (Clonliffe Harriers AC) - Marathon Mick Clohisey (Raheny Shamrock AC) - Marathon Sean Hehir (Rathfarnham WSAF AC) - Marathon Paul Pollock (Annadale Striders AC) - Marathon Kevin Seaward (St Malachy’s AC) - Marathon Brandon (Raheny Shamrock) Arrey - 4x400m Relay Craig Newell (Ballymena & Antrim AC) - 4x400m Relay Andrew Mellon (Crusaders AC) - 4x400m Relay Dara Kervick (DSD AC) - 4x400m Relay Women: Phil Healy (Bandon AC) - 100m; 200m; 4x100m Relay; 4x400m Relay Gina Akpe-Moses (Blackrock AC-Louth) - 100m; 4x100m Relay Siofra Cleirigh Buttner (DSD AC) - 800m Claire Mooney (UCD AC) - 800m; 4x400m Relay Ciara Mageean (UCD AC) - 1500m Emma Mitchell (Queens University AC) - 10,000m Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle & District AC) - 3000m steeplechase Michelle Finn (Leevale AC) - 3000m steeplechase Breege Connolly (North Belfast Harriers AC) - Marathon Gladys Ganiel (North Belfast Harriers AC) - Marathon Laura Graham (Mourne Runners AC) - Marathon Lizzie Lee (Leevale AC) - Marathon Ciara Neville (Emerald AC) - 4x100m Relay Joan Healy (Bandon AC) - 4x100m Relay Niamh Whelan (Ferrybank AC) - 4x100m Relay Molly Scott (SLOT AC) - 4x100m Relay Davicia Patterson (Beechmount Harriers AC) - 4x400m Relay Sophie Becker (St.Joseph's AC) - 4x400m Relay Sinead Denny (DSD AC) Ciara Deely (Kilkenny City Harriers AC) - 4x400m Relay Catherine McManus (DCH AC) - 4x400m Relay
