  1. You do realize there's like 4 cable channels with live Olympic coverage at 3am, right? Please every event streamed on the app. This is a country of 330+ million people. Everyone wants something different. Those who are enough to seek out the coverage they want are more than content with it. For most of the rest of the crowd, it's easier to bitch and moan about how it's too difficult to use an app. There's a reason NBC tends to cut out parts of the ceremonies on their edited version. Viewers tune out during certain segments. That's a proven fact. Everyone says they want to see the entire ceremony. Actual data shows that's not necessarily the case. And yes, many Americans are almost offended by the fact that the Olympics are held at inconvenient times, as if the rest of the world has an obligation to make it easier for us. Again, the ratings drop is due to a dozen different reasons. I'd still like to see what it looks like when we get to an Olympics not affected by a once in a century global pandemic. We have at least 3 years until that happens
  2. Pretty much. Swimming and gymnastics are big draws. Track and field, not so much. And they haven't given a ton of coverage on the main network to beach volleyball, which is a shame because all 4 American teams are doing well
  3. LOL, you sound just like all the morons on social media whining "it's too hard to use the app, why can't NBC just put everything in primetime." I've been following the entire Olympics. Cable channels all providing tons of coverage. Everything live in the app. Too many people think the primetime show is the entire Olympics. Sure they're going to focus on Americans. Is that different than any other country? No, people say they want to see the NY Jets of the Olympics, but do they really give a crap about the Jets? I'm a Jets fan and I barely care about the Jets! NBC treats the Olympics like a reality TV program because that's what the audience thinks of it. That's not their fault that especially this time around, people just aren't into the Olympics.
  4. NBC's viewership so far is awful. Way down from Rio in 2016 for a variety of reasons. Tough to figure how much of that is pandemic-related, but we won't know until Paris 2024 to see if they can bounce back. They're locked in all the way through 2032
  5. Tense match between the USA and Netherlands. Save on a penalty kick has the game tied in the 84th minute
  6. Darn, so no golden slam for Djokovic. And who is this Karen that ROC got into the final?
  7. Gold for USA! It's the land of the rising Suni!!
  8. Well that was definitely exciting. Figured we might get the silver, but that wasn't who was supposed to finish ahead
  9. Attaboy Finke!! Saved it all for the end, that was incredible
  10. NBC reports Biles has withdrawn from the all-around. Still might compete in event finals.
  11. You should have seen the United States against Sweden. Very uninspiring performance. Can't read much into today because Australia was playing for the draw. Not sure I like our changes. If defense is your problem, you're facing a team that scored 0 goals in 2 of their 3 matches thus far
  12. Well that didn't go as planned. So much for not winning an event the United States couldn't lose. Hopefully Biles is alright and can compete on Thursday. Would be a real bummer if that vault was the last we see of her
  13. Shown live on the app and on Peacock. Yes, TV coverage is delayed, but they're reporting it on the Today Show only because they know it's live elsewhere
  14. This is unbelievable drama. Between this and the softball gold medal game, I am locked in this morning
  15. Chiles is competing on bars, doesn't mean she has withdrawn entirely
  16. Not good. She is performing more like a goat and less like the GOAT
  17. Not the American we thought would win that race, but wow. Have a day, Lydia Jacoby!
  18. Damn, apparently we will.
  19. Wow, Great Britain. That's impressive
  20. Great win for Team USA over Kenya. Huge try in the last minute for the comeback
  21. Since we're sharing spreadsheets, here's mine.. https://1drv.ms/x/s!AmjSAkgy3D1zkmmRJr7qbWXdKQv7?e=PIRKbi This is more based on American television listings, but there's a tab for all the events, similar to what others here have. Don't know how much I'll be able to update it during the games, but the majority of information should be accurate!
  22. Great win for Sponcil and Claes. US volleyball teams largely looking very solid thus far
  23. Great tweet that perhaps should have indicated this could turn out like 2004...
  24. Incredible job by Jake Gibb and Tri Bourne getting the win today against the Italians after they just got thrown together a few days ago. Well done!
  25. Well, so much the the Americans being considered the favorites here. Looked bad in some of the pre-Olympic warmup games and clearly it's continuing over here
