  1. Yulimar Rojas is in trouble of possibly stepping out of the triple jump final earlier than anybody could've expected. 14.33 might not be enough to hold onto the 8th place.
  2. Oh my god, so we can still qualify with two additional boats then at these championships I wonder if our K2 and C2 is successful, will we try to cheese our way into a K1 quota, sending a different rower in that discipline, when the continental qualification for Europe is held.
  3. Someone with a PhD please explain this: So, if by chance Lithuania qualifies in K2, we just lose the qualification spot by default, because Maldonis is already in our K4, and then if we want to send a K2 we'll have to requalify in continental championships with a different team member for the 2 available European spots??
  4. I'm a Lithuanian that's not into basketball what so ever, so I felt nothing I would say I felt horrible and every single canoe sprint athlete felt horrible when they made the 200m distances non-Olympic for men
  5. Yeah, this is probably the happiest that I could be with a 6th place, because it adds four people to our Olympic team and that's already better than our 2020/21 disaster of only a single K1 boat qualifying.
  6. Thank fuck, Edis Matusevičius gives some life to the Lithuanian team. All in all, three final performances for us at these championships.
  7. May I ask what had to happen that there is only one male javelin thrower from Germany at this championship?
  8. Titas Puronas qualified to the semi, don't believe he can do much more. Ieva Serapinaitė absolutely blew it in the fencing, even if she reaches the final, there's really not much that she can do. Gintarė Venčkauskaitė can't produce a good fencing performance if her life depended on her. Laura is in prime position to attack a medal, assuming the riding and swimming goes well. Adomaitytė has a chance to show she's worthy of a final with a rather good fencing start.
  9. Tentoglou absolutely surrounded by Jamaicans on every corner
  10. All of the Lithuanian Olympic boats on the men's side survived the qualification. We'll see how the semifinals go.
  11. Very weird draw, to be honest. Even SF 2 has World Rank: 2, 4, 6, 8, when SF1 has 9, 10, 11 and 12 as the best ranked boats.
  12. Huh? All four Lithuanian women have qualified, including Venčkauskaitė.
  13. They probably don't want to invest in better servers, because they only suffer these traffic spikes once in two years
  14. I'm still quite uncertain when did the rules change, because Moon had a failure at a higher jump than Kennedy and not at the same height. I remember they used to differentiate between such scores.
  15. Our commentator just started singing JAKOB JAAAAKOB and scared me to fucking death
  16. Wow, javelin throw group B was such a massive disappointment. Jasiūnaitė, Kolak, Tzengko, Borge, Tugsuz out
  17. Tentoglou might miss the final, that would be an upset Edit: Nevermind
  18. For a moment there, I thought you would only qualify to the women's javelin final with a Q mark, but Barber and Vilagoš didn't step up to the plate. I'm worried for Liveta now. Her lifetime coach Teresė Nekrošaitė refused to work with her, so it's the first season that she was training abroad. The results have been very unstable. On the other note, Nekrošaitė is now training our very talented javelin thrower Orinta Navikaitė, that got a bronze in U18 last year and performed very well at U20s this year against 1-2 year older opponents.
  19. The team at these championships: Women's K1 200m: Kotryna Glemžaitė Women's K1 500m: Kotryna Glemžaitė Women's C1 200m: Gabrielė Čerepokaitė Men's K1 200m: Artūras Seja Men's K1 1000m: Andrej Olijnik Men's K2 500m: Mindaugas Maldonis / Andrej Olijnik Men's K4 500m: Simonas Maldonis / Mindaugas Maldonis / Ignas Navakauskas / Artūras Seja Men's C2 500m: Henrikas Žustautas / Vadim Korobov Well, our team is still really hurt by the fact that the 200m distances are no longer Olympic, because Seja, Navakauskas and Žustautas are decorated with World and European titles in those. But this time we had a full cycle with these boats & teams and should be stronger. Hopefully we avoid the disaster of qualifying one boat last Olympics. On the other note, we finally have women in a major championship. This is a revelation for our team
  20. SQUAD - everyone can qualify to the Olympics, but everyone can fail to qualify at the same time This year's motto is - unpredictability. Women's Single Sculls: Viktorija Senkutė Women's Double Sculls: Donata Karalienė / Dovilė Rimkutė (European silver medalists this year and our biggest contenders) Women's Pair: Ieva Adomavičiūtė / Kamilė Kralikaitė (Kralikaitė just won the U23 championships with a different partner, Adomavičiūtė is here, because Senkutė had an injury a couple months ago and Lithuania dropped their quadruple sculls project and now all the four women are split into three different boats) Men's Single Sculls: Dovydas Nemeravičius Men's Double Sculls: Žygimantas Galižanskis / Povilas Stankūnas Men's Pair: Domantas Stankūnas / Dovydas Stankūnas Men's Four: Armandas Kelmelis / Povilas Juškevičius / Dominykas Jančionis / Giedrius Bieliauskas In my opinion, we could've sent a men's and a women's quadruple sculls as well formed from all the unused athletes of various boats, but I assume nobody really believed in them being competitive. But we have U23 and U20 medalists just sitting at home right now.
  21. I guess I made the right choice to support Italy in the men's high jump final
  22. Ingvaldsen sneaks into the men's 400m final barely
  23. Can someone please explain to me what's going on at the women's discus final?
  24. From a Lithuanian perspective, I don't think that I'm excited for this upcoming season of biathlon. Think that we're just in for more of the same. Women's team falling apart again and undoing all of the progress again, plus other retirements. Vytautas won't be getting any stronger, Tomas and Karol probably are going to be more of the same and Banys, Fomin and Mačkinė don't seem to be improving as fast to expect anything other than a pursuit race and not much more. Adding to that, not a single exciting young prospect on the horizon for like 5-6 years.
  25. No Lithuanians tomorrow, but Wednesday is a very important day for our team. Gabija Galvydytė 800m, Liveta Jasiūnaitė JT, Gediminas Truskauskas 200m, Grikšaitė and Kilty in the TJ and U23 silver medalist Karinauskaitė in the 3000m Steeplechase. One of the most important goals for all our athletes here is to secure a top 16 first, because that's how you get your funding for the next few years.
