Good graphic here for the World Relays next weekend, explaining how the Qualifications for Tokyo 2025 work. Day 1 - A round of 4 heats per event, top 2 teams got to the Final and get an Auto Q for Tokyo. Day 2 - 3 Repechages per event, top 2 get the Auto Q. And also the Finals.

It is a lot faster for sure. Once you have done the second fencing round - about 45-50 minutes, the other three events are done in just one hour. -
