  1. OK, still gradually being populated. Volleyball, starting today, looks to be complete, but the rhythmic gymnastics, starting tomorrow is not yet done. Rest will presumably be filled out as and when,.
  2. Games are finding their very own Michael Phelps = 17 year old Filip Nowacki of - 4 solo golds so far and with another 3 events to come and relays left....Just hope have got him on their books, because that's a name for sure.
  3. OK that ain't too bad, think I can keep that pace for two weeks.
  4. Still only the team sports listed. Volleyball is taking place in the Max Schmeling Hall, now there is a name from history
  5. Gah another run under protest in Lucerne. My idea for a new rule: if your protest is not upheld in an EAA event, serve a 14 day ban from all EAA events. Stop the crap & respect the rules.
  6. Think there is an appeal, but can't find the story I read today.
  7. Don't know anything about water polo, but have never heard of Japan being any good at it, so this is all good.
  8. Great news story from ! Not only has an extinct species of bird returned to the wild, but the even better news is that they are said to be delicious and we soon will be able to start eating them again! Or perhaps I have misunderstood the story slightly. Majestic birds hunted to extinction return to Scotland after 500 years
  9. - secret gymnastics superpower! Island Games Results Orkney 2025 | Medal Winners
  10. Streaming performances improved today, lot clearer. Whoever's in charge of the athletics coverage raised their game. Swimming finals session tonight very well done, good commentary and lots of tight racing.
  11. Great stuff! I always love the chance to get started early before the schedules become crazily overcrowded.
  12. Lucerne meet tomorrow night is on Discovery Plus, first time they've shown athletics in a while. https://spitzenleichtathletik.ch/en/Homepage.html
  13. So if you are both a Lancashire cricket fan & a Lancashire cycling fan......you've just had a very exciting 180 seconds.
  14. All of a sudden looking like a good day for outre-manche.....
  15. Participants by Nation. https://live.european-athletics.com/bergen-2025/countries
  16. TV Coverage is either on Eurovision Sport or you will get a redirect to your local broadcaster. https://www.european-athletics.com/home/live-stream/bergen-2025
  17. Seem to remember that was a bit of a disaster last winter....
  18. Not usually much in the way of live coverage for the EYOF, but I'll keep looking.
  19. team of 54, covering our usual strong sports and also table tennis. Fifty-four Team GB athletes selected for Skopje 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival | Team GB
  20. For athletics, swimming etc they probably need to wait to see how many people actually show up before scheduling and drawing heats etc.
  21. Some glitches to be worked out - the squash on-screen score was the same colour as the walls of the squash court, so could not be read. All the football streams had commentary from I guess local radio - if you want to heat what the Orkney accent sounds like, that older guy on the comms has a very good one! Athletics takes the feed from the stadium commentator nice and clear. Sadly the camera people got completely and hopelessly lost during the 10000m last night.
  22. It is just annoying the British domestic scene was wiped out by COVID and shows no sign of recovery.
  23. Originally founded by the smaller British, Commonwealth & Scandi Islands, they seem to be the most enthusiastic. Other Islands can of course join, but according to the constitution the islands must have a population of below 125,000, which rules out Sicily, Corsica, Jamaica, Hokkaido, Manhattan etc etc. Some other islands have been members in the past but are not active now - Rhodes, for one.
  24. First medals in the Triathlon & get their first Gold & Bronze in the Triathlon! Unlike Paris the water is clean & translucent in Orkney but it does sometimes have killer whales in it.
