intoronto reacted to Quaker2001 in Summer Olympic Games 2024 Competition Schedule
Looks like it's a stadium issue. They're at Stade de France, so they probably need it to start/finish a couple of days earlier to get the stadium ready for athletics.

Jokes aside. Despite having already Kazakhstan, which is a pain in the ass to travel there for every single UEFA member that would be super fun, I want some Guam - Iceland or Australia - Ireland home away matches

I never really got that argument anyway. North and South America are one continent, but Europe is not just a peninsula of the Eurasian continent? You can even throw Africa in there since the Sinai Isthmus is the same as the Panamanian Isthmus. And let's not even get into cultural differences. Besides, Europe gets more quotas than Europe anyway.

America is 1 continent not 2 , they are 10 countries in southern part +20-30 in north , they can make groups just like others ,
hé no, they divided the continent to ensure the qualif of USA , they play vs islands without any experience in football , that's why they qualify, they are always in
they know they have no chance vs south american teams , this system of cheating is shameful

Christa Deguchi will compete at the Pan American Championships in two weeks. Her sister (Kelly) is entered in the 52 kg event, if she is any good as her sister, we will have a 1-2 punch. FWIW Klimkait will not compete.

Easy group for Canada and Brazil, they’ll likely advance with no problems.
Argentina, Dominican Republic, Usa & Venezuela advancing barring any upsets by either Puerto Rico or Mexico, which are the likely ones competing for the last spot at 2023 PanAm Games

intoronto reacted to hckošice in Ice Hockey 2021 - 2022 Discussion Thread
No comment on what happened today in Košice
We played the delayed power play, so instead of the goalie we fielded a 6th skater
(for the non familiar with ice hockey rules - when a foul penality is signaled the play can continue if the fouled team has the puck posession at that time, it is called delayed power-play and the play can continue until the moment when any player of the opponent team will touch the puck, then the play will be stopped and the power-play will start. All fouled teams in this situation play with empty net, since it is logically impossible to conceed a goal as any puck touch of the opponent team will stop the play)
but we somehow managed to score a own goal to our own empty net ...
4th match of the quarterfinal serie between HC Košice and Dukla Michalovce, this goal completely destroyed our match we lost 2-6 and are leading the series now 3-1
here the Colton Saucerman unbelievable delayed power-play own goal
