  1. Probably Tae Kwon Do and the other Gymnastics disciplines.
  2. Congratulations to Slovakia for their promotion to the top division
  3. Yes I went to sone competitions in gymnastics, field hockey, tennis, archery & athletics, plus the ceremonies. it was one of the best experiences of my life, the atmosphere was great, had the chance to meet and chat with a few competitors and former olympic medalists from my country... Now I’m looking forward to attend LA in ‘28
  4. Well, we have the ecomony... the problem was that the past goverment didn't want to spend in hosting duties, rather they wanted to rob big. The new administration, although I'm not a fan of it, has another aproach and want to rehabilitate public spaces, including sporting venues.
  5. Pan Am Sports has oficially scheduled Pan Am Jr. Games for 2021. This will be a U-21 competition, with the winners of each event gaining a quota for 2023 Pan Am Games in Santiago. The host will be chosen in March this year, with NOC's having this month to submit a bid. Currently, three countries have expressed interest: Colombia, El Salvador & Mexico. I wonder which city in my country will be submitted as candidate? IMO, only Monterrey, Tijuana & Guadalajara have the economy, venues and capacity to host them in such short time. Of course, I wouldn't count on my city being selected, after such a shameful record of retiring (2018 YOG) or resigning (2017 World Aquatics Championship), so it could be good if the other two cities could step up.
  6. Cool... at least Mexican teams are guaranted one victory
  7. Question 1: How should TISC hosting rights be awarded if the winner declines their right to host the next edition? (b) Open bid process where all interested parties can bid Question 2: If there is an open bid process, how would you rather it be conducted? (b) First time hosts and previous hosts allowed to bid, but the draw will be weighted in favour of first time hosts Question 3: (a) unchanged, maintain the rule as it is

  14. I think open bidding should be given priority if the winner refuse to host. After all, those who bid are willing to do their best and I think we understand the compromise around the job. Again, priority should be given to first time hosts, with their chances in a game of luck being greater than those of previous hosts. Also, it could also be good to establish a period in which repeated winners or bidders can't host. Let's say one year for winners and three years for previous hosts. I think the rule should stay the same; imo, it is fair enough as it will avoid seeing "ghost entries" and/or "users", who won't commit to the process.
  15. Merry Christmas to all!! May the true spirit of joy and peace be with you and your cherished ones. Enjoy your festivities!
  16. What do they do, if they tie in two rounds? There's a golden point in each?
  17. Mexico is selected as 2019 Annual TISC host After their bid was selected yesterday as the new host 2019 Totallympics International Song Contest, Mexico is making early plans to host the prestigious music competition. Being the first country to receive the annual edition five years ago, also as a replacement of original hosts, this time around the organizing committee is better prepared to take on the task. “We have the strong duty to make 2019 TAISC edition one to remember”, explained bid CEO mrv86 “After all, two other deserving countries showed potential of being excellent hosts, so there’s a reason to do things not only right, but as spectacular as we can.” “Five years ago, we could only imagine the enormous impact this contest would have; one edition after the other, we have seen dedication of so many people in organizing a beautiful show and welcoming the World to their respective culture. In many ways, this supports our bid motto: music does not have borders of any kind.” “I personally would like to thank all the demonstrations of support received so far. It will be a pleasure to welcome you to the city of Guadalajara, and share with you our music, heritage and traditions, as I’m sure each of you will do with your song selections. Without much further to add, except the promise to deliver a show worthy of each one of you, I’d like to present once more: México” Mexico... the country you thought you knew Excerpt from Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Marquez Guadalajara, host city of 2019 Totallympics Song Contest
  18. Some new information regarding Gonzalez: *Sample was taken on October 17th by the National Antidoping Committee, as a surprise test asked by WADA. *Both, Mexican NOC and Athletics Federation were notified of a positive result some days later, tough the information was not made public until November 16th. *The athlete's defense team is alleging that the positive was due to consumption of tainted meat, as the prohibited substance is known to be used by Mexican ranchers are known to use it to feed their cattle. Source (in spanish)
  19. Sorry not answering earlier, but there's not much info besides the November 16th date.
  20. Wow, that's sad news for Mexican athletics, as she was seen as the leader of Mexico's renaissance in the discipline. On the other hand, good news is sport comentators will for one forget for once about football and hopefully, do an actual investigation into this matter. Personally, I can't pronnounce myself on the subject; I'd like to believe this is an error, but whith dopers becoming more and more cynical and unethical, there's a chance she indeed cheated and then, her suspension is well deserved.
  21. Thank you. I just feel happy of having the opportunity to welcome back Totallympics to my country. But more important I feel committed to do a way better job than last time. Expect a formal statement from bid committee and small presentation of the host tomorrow.

  23. Well, in a country were insects are part of diet of certain regions, it's difficult to categorize something as weird. IMO, among the most weird (or I rather say, disgusting) are Tacos de nana (pork's uterus) and Maguey worms And for @heywoodu, who I know is not fond of corn I have something worse: Huitlacoche, a fungus that grows in corn, considered a delicacy in Mexican cuisine.
