  1. He will probably seek asylum and be offered an Honorary and Legitimate Presidency in the "Loving, Forgiving and Juarist Not Corrupt Republic of North Venezuela" which is Mexico's future official name.
  2. Their mixed team gained a quota at the 2018 Asian Games, so they qualified one archer in each gender.
  3. Mexican NOC confirmed yesterday that Monterrey will put forward a bid for the first edition of the Pan American Jr. Games. It's main weakneses: The lack of economic support from the federal government: The state of Nuevo Leon is one of the states not aligned with the party now in control of the government, so probably they will have to manage a tight budget; despite that, the state and local government have enough resources to pull it off with help from the private sector, which is probably the most powerful in the country. Lack of a covered velodrome: as the Junior Pänams are a U21 competition, I expect track cycling to be included in the program. However, there's no covered velodrome in Nuevo León or any neighbour state, so they will either have to use Aguascalientes (6 hours away by road) as a sub-venue or will need to built one against the clock, Lack of a proper venue for sailing/surfing: The city is relatively far from the coast and although other discipline (canoe, rowing, triathlon, water ski) could be contested at Santiago's dam, which has been used for national championships, they will have to find a venue that already has the infraestructure to hold those events.
  4. Well, it could make it more interesting than having two groups.
  5. According to this interview with Around the rings Cali and Medellin are the Colombian cities competing, with Santa Ana being proposed by El Salvador (don't want to be rude, but this makes me ) Same article states some Mexican cities may present a bid, but doesn't name them. So we will wait. At this point it looks like it's Colombia's to lose.
  6. Mexico was doing quite well until 3rd quarter Anyway, congratulations to the Serbian team for their victory
  7. I'll do a quick search tomorrow night, but if you haven't found them yet, It'll be quite difficult to obtain them.
  8. Probably Tae Kwon Do and the other Gymnastics disciplines.
  9. Congratulations to Slovakia for their promotion to the top division
  10. Yes I went to sone competitions in gymnastics, field hockey, tennis, archery & athletics, plus the ceremonies. it was one of the best experiences of my life, the atmosphere was great, had the chance to meet and chat with a few competitors and former olympic medalists from my country... Now I’m looking forward to attend LA in ‘28
  11. Well, we have the ecomony... the problem was that the past goverment didn't want to spend in hosting duties, rather they wanted to rob big. The new administration, although I'm not a fan of it, has another aproach and want to rehabilitate public spaces, including sporting venues.
  12. Pan Am Sports has oficially scheduled Pan Am Jr. Games for 2021. This will be a U-21 competition, with the winners of each event gaining a quota for 2023 Pan Am Games in Santiago. The host will be chosen in March this year, with NOC's having this month to submit a bid. Currently, three countries have expressed interest: Colombia, El Salvador & Mexico. I wonder which city in my country will be submitted as candidate? IMO, only Monterrey, Tijuana & Guadalajara have the economy, venues and capacity to host them in such short time. Of course, I wouldn't count on my city being selected, after such a shameful record of retiring (2018 YOG) or resigning (2017 World Aquatics Championship), so it could be good if the other two cities could step up.
  13. Cool... at least Mexican teams are guaranted one victory
  14. Question 1: How should TISC hosting rights be awarded if the winner declines their right to host the next edition? (b) Open bid process where all interested parties can bid Question 2: If there is an open bid process, how would you rather it be conducted? (b) First time hosts and previous hosts allowed to bid, but the draw will be weighted in favour of first time hosts Question 3: (a) unchanged, maintain the rule as it is
  15. Reserved
  16. Reserved
  17. Mexico at the Pan American Games Coming soon...
  18. Mexico at the 2019 Pan American Games Sport/Discipline Competitor Event Result
  19. Mexico at 2019 World Championships Coming soon...
  20. Mexico at the Olympic Games Coming soon...
  21. I think open bidding should be given priority if the winner refuse to host. After all, those who bid are willing to do their best and I think we understand the compromise around the job. Again, priority should be given to first time hosts, with their chances in a game of luck being greater than those of previous hosts. Also, it could also be good to establish a period in which repeated winners or bidders can't host. Let's say one year for winners and three years for previous hosts. I think the rule should stay the same; imo, it is fair enough as it will avoid seeing "ghost entries" and/or "users", who won't commit to the process.
  22. Merry Christmas to all!! May the true spirit of joy and peace be with you and your cherished ones. Enjoy your festivities!
  23. What do they do, if they tie in two rounds? There's a golden point in each?
