I was furious watching that bout. But these are our young wrestlers they will learn from these mistakes. Our men’s team is undergoing a major overhaul in most categories. We need to stick with these talented youngsters. Same with Jaideep , i thought the chief coach got the tactics wrong , they planned to tire Demitras & then go for attack. I think we can count 10 athletes for 2 relays , as each relay team has an official squad allocation of 5 athletes. Similar to hockey/football where squad allocation is 16/18 players but 11 will be on the field. So Another 10 added to the contingent which takes us to 83 in 12 sports

Men’s 4x400 relay team qualify for Paris

We had to sacrifice mixed relay due to such short turnaround time & it worked. That one change rule in mixed relay must be looked at. We now have both the men’s & Women’s 4x400 relay teams qualified The men were always expected to qualify bad luck costed us a place in the final. We got a lucky draw with our heats in Women’s else it would have been hard to qualify. Still qualifying 2/3 teams here is a fantastic achievement.

If a NOC qualifies all 3 relay teams for 4x400, is it a requirement to choose the mixed relay squad from the 4x400 men& Women’s squad? Or all three relays can have independent athletes? Also how many athletes quotas can be used up if a country qualifies all 3 relay teams in 4x400?

Athletes contingent size now up to 73 . Next up the world relays , hopefully we get all 3 relay teams to qualify.

Yes , she was our best hope for a quota in Fencing . She was the first fencer to qualify for olympics from India in Tokyo but sadly even after being ranked as high as 32 she will not make it to Paris. The pressure is so huge that anything can happen in this tournament, even the next best ranked Aussie girl lost to the kazakh girl.

Bhavani Devi lost her SF Tanisha Khatri has qualified for final but will face the top seed . After a promising start by Karan singh , eventually we might end up with no quota in fencing Hoping Tanisha can salvage a quota for us
