    Dhinidhi has got the quota based on her 200m Freestyle timings/accumulated score while Srihari has got it on basis of his 100m backstroke as per the universality document uploaded on the world Aquatics website. I am not sure if they are able to swim in other events also. SFI should have made it clear. Maybe they can as there is no limit on each event but on total number of participants. So maybe both will swim in two events.

    Swimming federation of India have announced the two universality spots as confirmed by world Aquatics (FINA). Dhinidhi Desinghu (Female) & Srihari Nataraj (Male) have qualified for Paris Olympics under universality quota. With these 2 quota places our contingent size now rises to 102 athletes in 16 sports

    Judo Tulika Maan qualifies for Olympics in +78Kg after official list of qualifiers released by IJF. She takes one of the continental quotas. With this quota place our Paris Olympics contingent size officially hits 100 athletes mark. 100 in 15 sports.

    What a match, loved it as a neutral. Must be heartbreaking for Croatia & Modric. I hope Luca keeps on playing for the national side. The way Italia played they would find it hard against a well organised Swiss side. That one could go to penalties.

    There is a very good keeper , who is of polish origin & currently 3rd/4th choice in the Belgium set up. Does your federation look out for Polish origin players across Europe? Thomas Kaminski is a good keeper & can help Poland if Szczesny retires.

    Tbf Poland always had decent goalkeepers even before Szczesny. Both Boruc & Fabianski competed with him. Before them it was Dudek. It depends on the position also, Lewandowski is a generational talent & carried Poland to major tournaments with his goals. I feel once Lewandowski eventually retires it will leave a big vaccum for the Polish football system, Szczesny will not have that same effect.

    Havertz is not a striker , he can play off the striker but he can’t do what Fullkrug can do i.e play like a striker (A no9 )

    I thought the goal should have stood. It was a poor decision. VAR got it wrong, the ball was past the GK wven before he could react. This result also means Polska are the first country eliminated from the tournament

    First 0-0 of this tournament. That was a boring match , both teams played safe. Was it a fair call on the offside?

    This performance from the polish team will really hurt their loyal fans. You can loose any match but attitude & effort on the pitch matters, I found not only a lack of ability but lack of mentality to win the 50-50 balls & playing as if er life depends on it. Sad end for Lewandowski .

    Shreyashi Singh qualifies for Paris Olympics as NRAI has exchanged a pistol quota with a trap quota. Same has been confirmed today by ISSF. Total Shooting contingent will be 15 (R+P) + 6 (Shotgun)= 21 athletes

    has exchanged pistol (Women) quota with a Trap (W) quota. ISSF has confirmed the quota exchange, as we will have a double starter in both 10m & 25m Pistol events.

    Does anyone have stats for own goals in major tournaments (WC, Continental cups) ? I think 5 is already a very high number & we have just started 2nd round of matches. Players have won golden boot with 5 goals!

    I always had a soft spot for Bolivia since they qualified for US’94 . I was sad Moreno could not get to a WC , his career deserved a WC appearance. As for Paraguay it is mainly due to Roque Santa Cruz ( he played for the club I support) & also for Larissa Riquelme 😉
