Wrestling at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
Roamingrover86 replied to Totallympics's topic in Wrestling
Aman gets his olympic medal Much deserved This is our first wrestling medal in Paris & 5th consecutive Olympics where our wrestlers have got a medal. The journey continues After what happened with Vinesh, this medal brings some solace to our fans. -
Day 13 - Double delight ! Statistically our best day in Paris so far. Hockey bronze & a Silver from Neeraj should be enough to make most fans happy, however I didn’t feel the same level of happiness from Neeraj’s Silver that I got from the Hockey Bronze. Neeraj’s achievement is amazing considering he maintained the level of performance for 3 years securing back to back medals in Olympics. A rare feat achieved only by Sushil kumar & PV sindhu. We are still active in 3 sports (Hockey campaign comes to an end with a Bronze medal, a successful campaign ) 19 more athletes ended their Olympics campaign today ( 16 Hockey ,2 Athletics & 1 Wrestling ) We still have 14 active athletes & have 1 🥈& 4🥉 in our Kitty. As of Day 13 we are 64th in the overall Medal table . Medalists : (Total 5 medal ) Shooting : 3 Manu Bhaker (10m AP women) - 🥉 10m AP Mixed Team ( Manu & Sarabjot) - 🥉 Swapnil Kusale (50m 3P AR Men) - 🥉 Hockey : 1 Men’s Team - 🥉 Athletics: 1 Neeraj Chopra ( Javelin Throw Men) - 🥈

Athletics at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Neeraj Chopra becomes first Indian in Athletics to win 2 medals in consecutive Olympics. A gold in Tokyo followed by Silver in Paris. His consistency across the season is rewarded with SB throw 89.45m & a silver medal However this silver medal ( which is our best result of this games so far) doesn’t really feel like a win.. it feels more like a loss & I personally don’t feel as elated as I did with the bronze in Hockey. Happy for Neeraj & this medal brings our total tally to 5 medals ( 1 🥈 4 🥉 6 4th ) -

Well he made Yazdani work for 6 mins & got a point out of him that itself should be a victory for him. He can go for Bronze like he did in Tokyo at our expense -

What a match between Ramazanov & Brooks, last sec twist. But how did Taylor lost to Brooks, he seemed ordinary. Yazdani would have demolished hin -
Back to back medals for us in Hockey Massive for the sport of Hockey Before our win in Cricket world cup 1983 Field Hockey was the most successful & popular sport among Indians . Delighted we are going back to those golden days A special mention to our Goalkeeper Sreejesh who will retire after Paris . He was a wall/ rock for us at the back Also well played . They played great hockey.

Weightlifting at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
Roamingrover86 replied to Totallympics's topic in Weightlifting
Another 4th for us This has been an Olympic of near misses for This is the 6th time we finished 4th in an event in Paris If Mira would have made the last lift, we could have got a medal but anyways she did better than I thought she would She was out injured since the Asian games last year . 199kg is not too bad. -
Day 12- By far the worst day we had at Paris Olympics. The less said about the day the better. This is turning into a nightmare olympics. We are still active in 4 sports ( Table Tennis & Weightlifting campaign ended today) 13 more athletes ended their Olympics campaign today ( 7 Athletics, 3 Table Tennis 2 Wrestling & 1 Weightlifting ) We still have 33 active athletes & have 3🥉 in our Kitty. As of Day 12 we are 67th in the overall Medal table . Medalists : Shooting : 3 Manu Bhaker (10m AP women) - 🥉 10m AP Mixed Team ( Manu & Sarabjot) - 🥉 Swapnil Kusale (50m 3P AR Men) - 🥉

We all are sad & devastated. I even planned my leave specifically for Olympics . In Rio I had the worst feeling & after Tokyo thought those dark days are gone. Even if we have bad olympics it would still be at Tokyo’s level & not Rio. After everything in Paris I still hold hope & maybe we will be closer to Tokyo but Yes, this Olympics have been filled with disappointment. I hope a proper post analysis is carried out & people are made accountable. We can’t keep spending crores of rupees & end up with no improvements. 4 years is a long time & with correct planning & proper people in charge we can definitely turn it around. What Prakash sir said is absolutely correct , players support staffs coaches everyone needs to be accountable. In successful nations if you don’t perform your funding is withdrawn. You have to stop rewarding failure & mediocrity & it starts with media. They need to stop hyping up athletes. Oh! & Finally we need to stop this hosting crap. We are simply not ready be it financially or sporting wise to even come in a conversation of hosting Olympics. The politicians just like another excuse to scam money in the name of hosting an event like in Commonwealth. We need people like Parth Jindal more involved who are passionate about sports unlike a certain lady for whom everything is a PR event!

Sport Climbing at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Really happy for Miroslaw , she deserves it , have been the best here in Paris. To perform under such pressure/ expectations & still win makes her a worth Olympic champion. -
Antim is out . As the turkish wrestler she lost to has lost against the German in QF. End of the road for Antim in less than a minute. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but maybe we should have had that trial in 53kg between Antim v Vinesh . 53kg is normal weight class for Vinesh & Antim was out injured for long time . It is what is though.

Someone needs yo be held accountable. This is not how professional team work. This is absurd that a medical team cannot work on weight reduction. They should have worked on her rehydration to keep it from exceeding 2.7 kgs if that was the case. Gross negligence & people in charge needs to hold accountable.

Day 11 - Day of redemption & champions . What a near perfect day we had , if only the Hockey result was in our favour it would have been a perfect day. Vinesh will get the headlines for causing the biggest shock of our Olympic campaign & she now stands one bout away from her dream . Neeraj showed again why he is a champion but it will be hotly contested final. Hope our men can recover & get that bronze in hockey. We need to continue our medal run in hockey. We are still active in 6 sports 4 more athletes ended their Olympics campaign today ( 3 Table Tennis & 1 Athletics) We still have 46 active athletes & have 3🥉 in our Kitty. As of Day 11 we are 63rd in the overall Medal table . Medalists : Shooting : 3 Manu Bhaker (10m AP women) - 🥉 10m AP Mixed Team ( Manu & Sarabjot) - 🥉 Swapnil Kusale (50m 3P AR Men) - 🥉

We made too many mistakes today, don’t know if players were nervous. We were giving away to many unnecessary fouls . Were always going to be tough but I thought we didn’t play our best game today. Hopefully we play better against If not better we need to match Tokyo result to keep the momentum in Hockey
