Maheshwari Chauhan is currently placed 8th in Skeet ( W) after end of Day 1 of qualification. Two more rounds left & top 6 qualify. One to look out for tomorrow.

There is a dedicated lake ( Hussain Sagar) for our rowing programme, however the entire programme is under Army & unfortunately the sport doesn’t have any takers for private funding . It is also not a core sport under government funding . But you are correct there is such a good opportunity in Rowing , if we focus we can definitely send a larger team to Olympics. Our women programme is non existent unfortunately I don’t see things changing any time soon on world level, we do get medals in Asian level/ Asian games though .

Day 7 - Much better day than yesterday. We nearly won a medal in Archery Mixed team , Lakshay won his match , India defeated Australia in Hockey & Manu qualified for yet another final 3/3 finals for her. We are still active in 11 sports. ( Judo & Rowing campaign came to an end both very disappointing) 7 more athletes ended their Olympics campaign today ( 2 Athletics, 1 Shooting , 2 Archery 1 Rowing & 1 Judo ) We still have 68 active athletes & have 3🥉 in our Kitty. As of Day 7 we are 47th in the overall Medal table . Medalists : Manu Bhaker (10m AP women) - 🥉 10m AP Mixed Team ( Manu & Sarabjot) - 🥉 Swapnil Kusale (50m 3P AR Men) - 🥉

More so when you consider Archery is more competitive globally & unpredictable sports . A lot depends on conditions which you can’t control as opposed to Table tennis. Really impressive how Korea is still maintaining their dominance in such a sport. Although I expect in future Olympics ultimately they might loose their dominance.

Don’t deserve an Olympic medal on that performance. Good shooting by Dhiraj , he needs to be supported and encouraged. He can do well in the next Olympics cycle. Also we need better junior archers to challenge the seniors only then can we be competitive

Well that was good while it lasted. are just so good, even in their bad match they will win. We did all we could. Hope for a better result in the Bronze match

This win is massive not just on basis of result but mentally as well. This will give confidence to the boys that they can defeat anybody.
