  1. After yet another Olympic cycle, where we couldn't get an athlete quota in this sport, the reserve plan has been activated. The first ever woman Olympic medalist for Kimia Alizadeh is going to get a Bulgarian passport in the coming days. The quota she earned at the European Qualifier as an EOR will be changed to a Bulgarian one and we will have our first ever "official" participation in taekwondo.

From what I found quotas went to all quarter-finalists from 2023 World Wushu Championships in each of 6 weights (in weights with less than 8 athletes quota places went to all athletes that competed (example: in women's 70 kg division only 3 athletes competed so only 3 quotas). 58.92m for her 5th result over 58m! Likely will need to consistently be among the 58-60m range in order to qualify. Wonder why her most recent results aren’t showing up on the Road To Paris site though, maybe they just haven’t updated it yet?

  31. Freestyle Ace Freya Anderson 'Unlikely' To Race At British Trials (swimswam.com) Not ideal (especially for the relays)
    1 point
  32. It's weird that the selection policy doesn't have any allowance for illness or injury going into the trials - for example UK Athletics allow athletes to skip the trials if they are injured/ill provided they have been reviewed by federation medical teams. For Anderson, I suspect that British Swimming will be willing to give her time to recover and show form - the good news from her perspective is that in her events, GB don't have multiple swimmers who are likely to be under the BST. Anna Hopkin will probably take the 100m title with Freya Colbert favourite in the 200m, but there isn't an obvious second athlete who you'd think would get below the BST. The more tricky question for the selectors will be around the relays - the 2024 season's best for the top 4 athletes is outside of the GB nomination time for both the 4x100 and 4x200. If the top 4 are outside the BST, hopefully British Swimming will be pragmatic and won't make a decision about the relay quotas until Anderson is given a chance to prove her form/fitness.

  36. Yeah, total disaster... Joj TV group (having Joj šport) and Markíza Tv group the main commercial TV networks companies in the country are leading a war against czech TV channels whom Slovak viewers watch more than slovak channels (it started mainly because of expensive movies and TV shows which people intended to watch on czech TVs - including me, I do not remember last time I watched a movie or Tv serie on slovak chennel lol, arguing they do not have the rights to show it in Slovakia while Slovak channels have to pay for the rights and none watch them but rather watch them on czech Tv channels...) This led to close some czech TV channels in Slovakia... but, then came Joj group which get the TV rights for the Ice Hockey Worlds and you know the issue they are furious people will instead watch the hockey worlds on Czech Sport Tv than on Joj šport which argue by paying a lot of money for these rights in Slovakia, while ČT Sport does not have the rights to broadcast in this country at all and blah blah blah... so they managed to convince sadly the Czech public TV to cut their sport channel for Slovakia... Yep, dumb and sad. People are generally extremely angry and pissed, many now are deliberately boycotting Joj and Markíza channels, but we can not do anything, sadly Czech Sport TV is gone

Wushu (Sanda) quotas now shown on the qualification page: https://www.theworldgames.org/editions/Chengdu-CHN-2025-14/qualifications/by-sport I'm a little confused how quotas were distributed, given that one women's weightclass has 8 quotas awarded, but another only has 3 quotas awarded
