  4. it's really stupid to have a 3rd place match! just because someone may withdraw later! nobody ever rejected a continental quota in Taekwondo and doping disqualification is also rare in this sport. these 3rd place matches are absolutely useless. last night GEQ girl even celebrated her 3rd place match win with the flag and more. I don't know what she was told but she looked like someone who doesn't know there are only 2 quotas available

  5. 68kg, Egypt and Burkina Faso qualified (both matches came to the very last second of the 3rd round) women's 57kg, Gabon and Tunisia qualified

  6. German athletes, who finish top four at the World Championships, fulfill the criteria of the German federation and are officially qualified for the Olympics. Märtens already is qualified due to his medal last year. Those who don't finish top four here need to swim the official standard in spring.

Other news, at the Meeting Lieven (indoor), Alysha Newman records a new SB of 4.75m in the women’s pole vault! You might remember me complaining about Newman’s consistency mid-summer of last year, but it seems as if she’s finally started to find some form! In the six competitions she’s competed in this year (including this one), she’s been over 4.60m in all but one of them! (with her 4.45m being at the first meet of the season, the Sharon Anderson Memorial in early January)

  11. A special general assembly of IIHF leaderboard is schedulled from Monday (Tomorrow) in Zurich. One of the main points (the most important) is the discussion followed by vote about the eventual extention of the ban on and from IIHF program (including the WOG Milano-Cortina 2026) This is a full 14 members list of the leaderboard which will vote for or against extention of the ban Luc Tardif (FRA), Petr Bříza (CZE), Bob Nicholson (CAN), Henrik Bach Nielsen (DEN), Aivaz Omorkanov (KGZ), Zsuzsanna Kolbenheyer (HUN), Marta Zawadzka (POL), Franz Reindl (GER), Pavel Bure (RUS), Andrea Gios (ITA), Heikki Hietanen (FIN), Viesturs Koziols (LAT), Anders Larsson (SWE) and Raeto Raffainer (SUI) PS: We already know 2 votes for the continue of the ban The Swede Larsson and Finn Hietanen have already told to their domestic media that their oppinion about the continuation of the ban not changed. "In the current situation, we consider it impossible for Russia and Belarus to start. This is about the safety of players and events. My clear opinion is that the situation has not changed, so Sweden's position is clear," the Swedish official told Expressen.

  19. and at the end Egypt and Nigeria grabbed the last two quotas at women's 67kg. both very very one-sided matches if we consider the top seeds. only two seed 1 athletes failed to qualify and both are from Morocco. Laaraj (W57) and Bassel (M+80) Tunisia is the only African country with 2+2 quotas. perfect tournament for them
