1:43.17, world leading time this year (though it seems like a bit of a soft WL time to me).

Do we know which athletes in the "Road to Tokyo" lists definitely/likely won't be going to Tokyo?

For example in women's 400m, I thought Salwa Eid Naser is suspended (I'm not 100% sure)

This would need a lot of research, spent hours on it. As I was checking, in many disciplines, there are listed athletes as qualified based on OG standart or enough points athletes that have either doping ban, injury or other reasons. We may expect athletes below the line to be qualified in multiple disciplines. The ranking will close on June 29th ..... And if I am correct, the name list from all the countries must be confirmed up to July 5th ....

She was cleared of a charge about three whereabouts failures. However, she's waiting on an appeal by World Athletics against the decision to clear her.

Decision should be published by the end of June

100m hurdles women: Both Cindy Roleder and Pamela Dutkiewicz-Emmerich from :GER are definitely out. Dutkiewicz-Emmerich is injured and Roleder has gotten a baby.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
