You sure it's not the official confirmation? That's thursday according to the official qualification document.

But the rankings could still be updated today. It's just about the official notification :p

A pretty highly respect Irish athletics journalist has published an article to say 10 Irish have been added. He’s usually spot on and would be well connected

BUT

He’s wrong. At least one name he’s mentioned won’t be going as she’s been overtaken (definitely). Hope she doesn’t see it and get her hopes up

As far as I understand the selection process is happening today and tomorrow.
That means all NOC are asked which quotas they want to accept and which quotas are declined (e.g. due to injuries, multiple quotas in different disciplines, internal policies=harder national quotas,...).

Afterwards the open quotas are filled with the next athletes and the process repeats. So we will see steady updates in the World Ranking for the whole day.

I don't remember this guy achieving the entry standard in May. I could be wrong but it seems like he was just added now to the qualifiers for an event that happened in May in Georgia with almost perfect wind and he jumped 17.16 (with 17.15 being the standard). He has never jumped close to 17m outside of Armenia. I don't want to jump to conclusions but this is very suspicious.

Until now Dimitrios Tsiamis was 32 in Road to Tokyo. Now he's 33 and the Italian guy who achieved the standard was already ahead of Tsiamis by ranking so it can't be him. I looked at the men's triple jump a lot and do not remember this Armenian guy having achieved the standard so it must be him that bumped Tsiamis down to 33. Is it even possible for results from last month to be added in at the last moment like that? It doesn't sit well with me.

    • I would prefer the 12 teams tournament in both genders, and give the almost 80/90 quotas to a lot of sports. For example, 32 could go to 4 more teams in each gender in basket 3x3. Then, the 12 team qualification i will do it like this:   Host quota gold medal of the previous olympic (-1 reduction to the confederation of the gold medal team) 3 to europe 1 oceania 2 south america 1 north america and caribe 1 africa 1 asia 1 playoff africa-asia 1 playoff of loser of africa-asia, 4th europe, 3th southamerica and 2nd north and caribe   and for the women probably the same changing south and north america quotas
    • Pity that UWW channel's subscription is so expensive - at least for me -. I wonder whether there are some free channels whereas to watch these European Wrestling Championships maybe even thru my VPN (perhaps some Turkish or Iranian or Japanese tv channels could be feasible ?). Thanks for your help.

    • 16 women's teams, because 12 is a shitty number for a tournament - both because the forced continental representation will lead to it being a relatively weak tournament and because you can not make a decent tournament with 12 teams, you'll be forced to have the super awful 'best third placed teams' nonsense.   0 men's teams   Instead of a total of 28, we go to a total of 16 teams. We gain 12 x whatever number of players are in a men's team for sports where the Olympics are important, we have a women's tournament with a decent format and we get rid of having junior championships at the Olympics, win-win-win

    • as usual, when a major tournament is held in China, it makes almost impossible to follow properly, especially when it comes to live broadcast    now, there's only a streaming on the official website working only on PCs, no YT, no apps, which means no comfortable TV watch    however, the first couple of days has already gone and we know the individual Sabre medallists...
