Not sure if you know, but the 100m in speed skating has been a World Cup event for a few years (10 years ago I think), and that was......absolutely a joke The problem with aerials / big air is when you mess up, come down vertically and land on your neck. I hate to say this but i fully expect someone to be paralysed or suffer a severe brain injury between now and the Olympic final. The bigger the prize, the more risks are taken. I quite like the idea of head to head 100m races. 32 skaters. Round 1, last 16. QF. SF. final.
