Of course, if a country want they can use a woman for the luge. One of the symbol of the luge, Maria Isser, won a gold in doubles in European Championship in 1954. She was the only woman that won a medal in international events

I have been wondering for some time if there has ever even been a woman in an (international) doubles competition, thanks for letting me know there was even one who won gold

Not sure if you know, but the 100m in speed skating has been a World Cup event for a few years (10 years ago I think), and that was......absolutely a joke 

The problem with aerials / big air is when you mess up, come down vertically and land on your neck.

I hate to say this but i fully expect someone to be paralysed or suffer a severe brain injury between now and the Olympic final.

The bigger the prize, the more risks are taken.

 

I quite like the idea of head to head 100m races. 32 skaters. Round 1, last 16. QF. SF. final.

 

BTW "Ice cross downhill" = Red Bull sponsored Crashed Ice events

Ha! Her partner was her brother,

I guessed that in the 50s if a woman sat on top of a man in public he'd either be her brother or husband
