Yes, even leaving aside speed skating. Everybody need to cheer for Loubineaud, maybe him getting a medal will help us avoid it :d

Yeah! Come on, French skating is finally actually starting to grow (he is the face of course, but there are more who are starting to improve!), if ever there is a moment to let them have actual home Olympics....come on people, just do it.

For a bit of context, the discipline left the god-awful ice sports federation after 2022 for the roller sports federation where the synergy with the roller speed skaters works well and it is now financially also helped by the national sports agency.

They will never learn; the only thing you can do at San Siro is run just before the event ends.

I got up before the olympic anthem and was about to leave and then realized they didn't sing it yet so stayed.

Last night's ceremony was really good :clap:I loved the part before the athletes parade (minus Mariah Carey wtf was that ), special mention to Laura Pausini

The dispatched parade was really well done I thought, probably better seen on TV than on-site though.

And my favorite parts: the coming together of the Olympic rings, the lighting of the flames and last but not least... SIGNORE ANDREA BOCELLI :wub::wub: Chills & ugly cry for me

Brought me back to the UEFA Champions League Final in 2016 in Milan when I was in the stadium and heard him sing live in that beautiful place as well (although he sang better and longer last night).

Enjoy the Games everyone!

Hopp Suisse! Forza Italia! Go Canada Go!

In short, last nights Ceremony was quite good, but too long. Mariah singing in Italian was funny, athletes parade was done quite good, though you notice with smaller delegations people are missing, with bigger nations you don't even notice so much place diversity.

Nice for Goggia to lite the flame in Cortina, wonder how often active athlete had this honour.

And also happy for @brunamourato represent Brazil and also Totallympics community in the best possible way.

All the best to all athletes and to others enjoy those good two weeks cheering and supporting.

Just had the time to watch the ceremony... Not bombastic but still very enjoyable

The spread parade was done nicely on TV, but maybe for those in San Siro it's too empty.

Loved the fact that they suspend the rings above the stadium, especially when we have "Winter Olympics (TM)" on the score graphics

Some fake fans did, indeed. Whatever one's opinion on the country, just don't cheer if you don't like it, don't be pathetic and boo the athletes.

Thanks for saying this.  I understand that people don't like the governments of certain places (and that's true for athletes/fans of their own government as well), but this is a moment for the athletes...especially in a moment that's meant to highlight Armonia.  Athletes train too hard to be booed because other people don't like their government, which is no fault of the athlete.

Enjoyed the ceremony last night...looking forward to watching it on the world feed with no ad breaks, etc.  We missed some countries in the parade.  I thought the ladies walking in with the country names looked like something out of Star Wars or something.  :)   I loved the aesthetic of the rings against the snow.

Also...is there actual fire in the cauldron or not?  Such a small (image of a) flame!

Interesting to see an active athlete light the cauldron!
