:SVK 3rd exchange was one unbelievable absurdity.

Our last leg was not in the exchange zone during the exchange... the reason : :LAT Bulina accidentally (at least I really hope) took from the rack one ski of our biathlete. They found the mistake a while later...

I swear. it is true

Maria Remenova had a big problem before the start when Latvian Bulina took one of her skis from the ski rack after the technical check and of course you can't race with one ski. There was some investigation as to what happened and by the time the Latvian figured out that she had someone else's ski, Ema was already at the finish line looking for her missing teammate . So she had to wait in the handover area while Maria quickly switched on her ski and went on the track.

Oh man.... We probably had our best women's relay in 15-20 years after the first 3 legs and then complete disaster on the final one :wall:

And the men almost match it!

For men this is not that unusual. They produced some good results in the last few years. For women this is likely their once in a career result.

Still, the men were 7 seconds away from their first relay podium in...26 years?

It was as good a race as it could be for the Bulgarians, unfortunate that it was a melt down for Zdravkova. Flip side Dimitrova and Todorova were excellent and Hristova wasn't bad either. Top 8 loading soon I think

Absurd and wild, but much better to happen during a World Cup race rather than the Olympics.

Like Estonia's single mixed relay back in Pokljuka?

    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
