Lyles is so unbearable with his pre and post race antics...trying to constantly remind you he's the "cool guy" and coming off as an arrogant and let's say not-so-smart weirdo.

A lot of sprinters run on confidence. Might be his way of "staying in the zone". Or he just wants to be the next face of athletics. Who knows.

:USA Provisional Olympic team after Day 3 (23 athletes)

On Tuesday, when the US Olympic Trials are taking a break (not sure why), I’ll do a rundown of the events where the US hasn’t qualified a full Olympic team ;)

They always run it over two weekends.   Maybe goes back to the day where athletes regularly doubled up at Olympic events.

FWIW this time hasn't been ratified by World Athletics yet (ie it isn't list on the Road to Paris section or any toplists). There's been some question marks about timing at the African championships

It's difficult to say. A lot of these US runners peak at the Trials especially if they don't have international experience like let's say Felix.

Natalia's time is significantly below theirs too.

All medalists will run under 49s to win a medal in Paris and I don't think any of the American women can (at the moment)

Medals should go to 3 of (barring injury) :DOM:POL:IRL:BAR :JAM

I'm also starting to worry about the cheat representing :BRN coming back into "form"

Aha, possibly.  World Athletics were, for the first time, pretty sceptical about last minute miracles in the weeks pre-Tokyo.

    • First, they lost the medal in the short dance, where their performance were also the worst in the season,   Second, since they had a good free dance, with which they won silver and bronze at the World Championships in previous years (with the result from 2023 it would be another silver today), why experiment and invent something new? You don't change what works well - better is the enemy of good,   The facts are that the Italian pair achieved a worse result at the World Championships than at the European Championships and generally had a weak season, and assuming the return of strong Russians, to win a medal they will need to score around 216-217 points, or maybe more.
