The Jury overturned their call

well from what i hear from weightlifting experts , his 1st attempt was OK , jury didn't overturn this "wrong" decision. his 2nd attempt was a foul , refs somehow wrongly accepted it but jury overturned the decision. even his 2nd attempt could be a "good lift" but his 1st attempt was good lift for sure.

I never liked Salimi, and will never like him but seriously this guy had an ACL surgery few months ago, he tried his life to recover in time for Rio. and they screwed him up like this.

well, this Olympic is getting disastrous

I'll just say, from the referee's perspective, that IMO there were grounds for a 'no-lift' decision in all three of Salimi's lifts. Tough call either way. And true, Salimi's 2nd was slightly better than the 1st.

Having said that, I think that Seim's 2nd lift was good and should have passed, since the movement was in the shoulders exclusively.

Let's hope the push for video review is finished before the next Olympics.

Now this is official that Salimi will get the same prize money as gold medal winners !

as far as I remember, he is the 3rd athlete to get such prize money without actually winning the gold, Miresmaeili 2004 and Abdevali 2012.
