Apparently there was a tie in for 8th place in the women's 800m heats but there's no swim off. There'll be 9 swimmers in the final.

They should do that more often

One of the world feed commentator seemed so disappointment there wouldn't be a swim-off in the 800m free xD

Since nobody mentioned it yet, I must say that 47.53 from :CHN Pan Zhanle was pretty disappointing after his world record relay leadoff on night one. Some swimswam users were saying that it's because of all the big waves generated from the other swimmers slowing him down.

Either way, the 100m freestyle in Paris could be incredible. You could potentially have a final of :CHN Pan, :ROU Popovici, :AUS Chalmers, :USA Dressel, :USA Alexy, :FRA Grousset, :GBR Richards and :ITA Miressi.

Not sure the whole 0.73 difference can be attributed to waves. He said in Chinese media that he was feeling a lot of pressure before the final so that wouldn't have helped.

Three semifinals and one national record for Mexico in swimming in the 4x200 men’s relay.

Not bad considering there’s no national federation.

Great nights for Netherlands and China

Steenbergen and Schouten with gold medals and with massive PBs. Thought Corbeau would also get gold but that was a monster last 50m by Dong to take gold.

And that was an amazing end to the relay. Very fun to watch and a very enjoyable night of swimming overall.
