Men's Field Hockey FIH Olympic Games Qualifier 2019

Recommended Posts

:NZL 3 - 0 :KOR

:NZL qualified.

Now, I know I'm getting ahead of myself but if no miracle happens today in the two remaining matches, the groups for olympic games should be like this:

A

Australia

Argentina

India

Spain

New Zealand

Japan

Belgium

Netherlands

Germany

GB

Canada

South Africa

If RSA withdraw Malaysia takes their place in group B.

Have they declared which ranking will be used for draw?

they will go with the serpentine system according to the final ranking of 2019 (which will be known in a few weeks, after the qualifying playoffs)...

I just realized that there is very big chance that in both mens and womens tournaments at Olympics we will see exactly 11 the same nations :yikes::yikes::yikes: The only difference can be that Belgium qualified only mens team and China qualified only womens team :coffee:

It's becoming even funnier, when you realize that China qualified after shootout against... Belgium :)

...and even then China only qualified because of a big comeback and a shoot-out.

If South Africa withdraws their women's team, there will be another difference.

Wow that is interesting. There is no diversity in this sport this cycle...
