This is actually an interesting result. There’s not many teams that can hold us to 4-0 on a given day.

They didn't look sharp last night, especially in the first half.  Need to improve on that performance.

by the way, the title of this thread should be changed, as women's football is not at under-23 level...it's a true senior tournament...;)

well, I'm pretty sure that nobody in the men's department would get even close to this number (the current record holder is :IRI Alì Daei with 109 and the best in the list among active player is :POR CR7 with 99)...

a threat could only come in the next (but not near) future from another woman from a team of a Confederation where top teams can score multiple goals/game against really weak opponents (so, I'd exclude Europe...as here we don't see scores like 10-0 anymore also among the women)...

    • I think the reason is that it's generally preferable to have a fast shooter in the 1st leg, and especially in the prone shooting, where Hofer is quite slow.   Now, I'm not saying I agree with the choice, because I don't. I think it's going to neutralize Giacomel's skiing skills in the 1st lap at least.   I guess the idea is to try and set a very fast pace in the 1st leg, which is usually quite tactical, but I'm afraid that's going to force Giacomel to risk too much because he will feel he has to make some time somehow.   Regardless, Italy must be on the podium tomorrow. I think that would be crucial for the following races as well. I think France is the clear favorite, but the other teams are not stronger than Italy on paper.
