Iran NOC already announced the flagbearers Neda Shahsavari (Table tennis) and Mehdi Olfati (Gymnastics) 

 

Shahsavari was OK, 3 times Olympian, oldest member of the delegation at the age of almost 38

 

but Olfati was a terrible and surprising choice. first there are lots of more experienced guys in the list and second (and most importantly) he is going to compete the next day  but I suppose wining a quota in Gymnastics made them too excited.

 

back in Tokyo the male flagbearer was almost twice the age of the female flagbearer. it will be the opposite this time.
