AsensioWillemsen 158 Posted June 22, 2023 #32 Share Posted June 22, 2023 It's actually pretty rare to constantly produce such a lock-in for the gold in the Swimming Worlds. Although Cseh, Gyurta, Kapas weren't exactly lock-ins for the gold for me. But USA and Australia are the only certainties for gold medals over the years. Even France, GB, Japan or China have some moments where they falter, although usually they go away with one gold minimum. And these countries have a much larger lineup in terms of pure manpower. However, it is without a doubt that Hungary provides one of the weakest lineups in recent history.

Josh 10,497 Posted July 12, 2023 #39 Share Posted July 12, 2023 (edited) With Ruck's form unknown, and Pickrem, Oleksiak, and Smith all choosing to skip, doesn't look like any Canadian relays will be medaling (And qualifying for Paris 2024) in Fukuoka. That being said, qualifying for the final here should secure Paris 2024 qualification, which seems possible for W 4X100 FR, W 4X200 FR, W 4x100M, MX 4X100M, and M 4x100FR relays (Maybe M 4x100M with Dergousoff, Liendo, Kharun, and Acevado too). News on McIntosh, she's expected to race in four individual events, and two relays. If I had to guess, I'm thinking she drops the 200IM as the SF conflicts with the 400FR and 4x100FR finals. Here's what I'm thinking for her schedule: Day 1 (July 23) Morning Session W 400FR - H W 4x100FR - H Evening Session W 400FR - F W 4x100FR - F Day 3 (July 25) Morning Session W 200FR - H Evening Session W 200FR - SF Day 4 (July 26) Morning Session W 200FL - H Evening Session W 200FR - F W 200FL - SF Day 5 (July 27) Morning Session W 4x200FR - H Evening Session W 200FL - F W 4x200FR - F Day 8 (July 30) Morning Session W 400IM - H Evening Session W 400IM - F Edited July 12, 2023 by Josh Topicmaster1010, NMQ, dullard and 1 other
hckošice 14,822 Posted July 12, 2023 #40 Share Posted July 12, 2023 (edited) mini-Team for the worlds composed of 7 Swimmers, 4 M and 3 W left Vienna International Airport very early this morning. Names will not say you a lot I guess, so no need to introduce them specially, the most known are obviously our 2 universality places Tokyo Olympians Richard Nagy (second from Right) and Breaststroke specialist Andrea Podmaníková (4th from left) M: Richard Nagy (400 IM, 200 Fly) Matej Duša (50 FS, 100 FS) Tibor Tišťan (50 Fly, 100 Fly) František Jablčník (200 FS, 200 IM) W: Tamara Potocká (50 Fly, 200 IM) Andrea Podmaníková (50 BR, 100 BR) Teresa Ivan (50 FS, 100 FS) Team Relays: Mixed 4x100 FS (Duša, Tišťan, Potocká, Ivan) Mixed 4x100 Medley (Potocká, Podmaniková, Tišťan, Duša) Overal. No surprise, there zero expectations as usual, last time we had 3 Top 20 results, so something similar would be fine, extending it with more Top 20 results would be great, a Semifinal would be miraculuous, anything better would be just ... yeah, will not happen Anyway, Good luck lads, and return home all and alive Edited July 12, 2023 by hckošice Josh and maestro
