I just made the calculations and will finish better than    /  as long as they: 

- win all 3 remaining games

-make a decent goal difference between all them (something like +5 or better)

- Montenegro and Denmark both lose to Poland (Denmark play them at home tomorrow, Montenegro away in the last matchday).

 

It would also help inmensely if Montenegro and Denmark tie their remaining game

In terms of a lack of a strong team yes..... but you have to look at a bigger picture of all the teams in each group then it is much trickier than many others.

Poland are the top seed by far.... then you have Denmark, Romania and Montenegro, a lot of potential there to drop points. And trips to Armenia and Kazakhstan are far from easy.

Group B on the other hand has two front runners with little opposition apart from Hungary.... who aren't the trickiest 3rd team either..... and the bottom 3 are just weak. No wonder it has the 2nd team with the most points . That's why this system just doesn't work.

Meanwhile, Argentina and Uruguay are yet to open the score... things might get very interesting in South America.

Suddenly things get interesting in South American qualification with Paraguay win over Chile.

 

Chile won the last two Copa América and had a good campaign at the Confederations Cup, but somehow can't translate that sucess to the qualifiers.

And Brazil's win makes thins more interesting... if Peru wins tonight again Bolivia, the next two game days should be pretty awesome
