AvV looking in a bad way, has to race again on Saturday.

To be fair, Switzerland with a male dream team and a very strong female team is in no way an unexpected winner, and Italy with silver can hardly be called surprising as well

Can someone tell the TV directors we don't need to see a full minute of coastline pictures every 2 kilometers in the deciding stages of a world championships race? We've seen the same thing roughly 75 times now, it's been enough.

 

And today it's fantastic weather for a race like this, but during the men's race tomorrow it will be all dry. Life is unfair

Main riders back together after a strong group of five has been caught, but now Marlen Reusser is on the attack with 11k to go. Big question is how she'll go up Mt Pleasant, but otherwise she can be incredibly hard to catch.

This will be the first world championships (women) without a Dutch medal since 2014, and only the second since 2005

Oh wow, what an insane attack by Van Vleuten with her broken elbow in the last kilometer, without even standing up, straight to the world title

But yeah, even at the start of the last km, I would have placed a serious bet on no Dutch rider finishing in the top 10 today, and then this happens.  

 

What a crazy finish and once again, what an amazing season for Van Vleuten.
