The breeding policy is working well.

You take a winner of the Paris Roubaix and a British road race champion, look them in a room together and a world champion is the result...

;)

Magnus quick to point out he's the only one without a world championship medal in the family. Megan won bronze at track as a junior

Was he doing the commentary overnight?

I don't know tbh. He did it last year when Zoe won the road race. He got quite emotional then (obviously enough!)

I'll give Eurosport Player a listen later to check this, but I can imagine this time he wouldn't have been that emotional given that anything less than a win with at least 45+ seconds of advantage would have been underwhelming :p

It was Rob Hatch and Michael Hutchinson on comms duty overnight.

Whoever named the Australian state of New South Wales obviously had today's winners in mind, seeing as they hail from Pontyclun and Aberaeron if my Googling is up to snuff. ;) Though Aberaeron - on the western coast - is perhaps south Wales in the broad sense only.

Drama in the team TT - red hot favourites :NED suffer a mechanical to Mollema in the men’s leg, then van Vleuten crashes straight off the ramp in the women’s.  So going to be an unexpected winner.

AvV looking in a bad way, has to race again on Saturday.

Tahiti do have a velodrome, albeit one of the old Roubaix-style ones.  But looking at the names, a few Togolese canoeists in there.

Well done :SUI - they were a strong team by any standards, would have been contenders.

    • I hope they can kick teqball and convince the North Koreans to play the real deal  (very unlikely, I know(   Obstacle racing on the other hand, it should be a compulsory sport of the ABG

    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
