Track Cycling at the European Championships 2022

It seems near impossible to have a major event where there isn’t a horrific crash or incident at the moment.

Yeah, late overtaking seems next to impossible. Turns take a lot of track and obviously you can't really do anything there (as proven by Rudyk).

 

250 m should be the bare minimum imo, but after this 200 m experience, I think 333 or 400 m would work best for track cycling. Less crashes, and definitely more nail-biting sprints.

TV director completely misses out on the battle for bronze in scratch. Gold and silver were already decided.

Very bad fall for Letizia, who lost her lucidity. Apparently she thought she was in the Olympics after falling, luckily she is now in the hospital and has regained her sanity

Just saw the replay. They brought out the green screen to shield her. They must have feared the worst at the time.

Scratch is one the races absolutely effected by the short track. Much easier to get a lap

in the end it's not that bad...broken collarbone and concussion for her (but never lost consciousness, she was only a bit confused)...

 

she should be released by the hospital before tonight...

"Fresh" from the road race just a couple of hours ago, he pops into the velodrome and takes gold in one of the toughest events, the elimination race..... incredible!!

Apparently the points race can only have 20 participants, but there are 21 entries....so everyone has to do a qualifying race  

 

First one has 11 riders, top-10 qualifies, second one has 10 riders and well...you know, just finish

it was top 8 from each heat to qualify, however...

 

by the way, we have troubles with the clock once again...
