I really like the broadcast intro for these games. You tell a good effort was put in, and I’d say it turned out nice.

Exactly ! This is really the thing that pissed me off,

 

Everything looks so great and very well organized, the streams are more than OK (yes we don´t have all the events covered, but it seems all finals will at least be streamed) the venues are quite nice and from the organization part everything looks really well as well, the opening ceremony yesterday was nice and every detail was very well prepared (from the whole concept until the music choice) it made me totally hyped and excited into this edition....

but then they will all this wonderful work devastate like that by that awful results platform on their web site. The informative part of this univerziade is just not worth of such event. Complete unprofessionalism. I mean even Krasnoyarsk somewhere totally lost in Siberia had a great result site...

That's why I'm leaving this difficult work to my Swimming and Athletics federations, so that they keep me posted on any good results that may happen over there :p

 

It seems that Andrius Šidlauskas is in the final of 100m Breaststroke, with a SB result and the second time he swims under the Olympic A time.

Actually I'm in a busy period, full of work so I will miss for sure this games (well, not that i'm so much interested about Universiade...). Plus, probabily this weekend i will be outside Campania...

My plan actually is try to watch the archery finals in Caserta, let's hope

Because it’s the 4th of July, I won’t be able to release today’s recap for another few hours (probably around the same time as tomorrow’s) because of the damn fireworks going off everywhere. I’m sorry for the inconvenience :cry:

      no names mentioned, even the number of athletes is not finalized yet, the report says 4 in CC without mentioning the gender.   I assume if she is still competing (not retired) she will be going , hard to find anything about winter sports athletes in the summer  (or even in the winter )

      Soon it will be goodbye to the   British Indian Ocean Territory as they will become part of Mauritius.   No permanent residents, but the descendants of expelled indigenous residents from the 70s have a “Chagos Islands” football team. Ironically, just a few months ago, they played their first match under the “BIOT” name, and their shirts had the flag which looks pretty amazing.

      Hüberli/Brunner announce the end of their partnership after 9 years together    I love these girls, they were my second favourite women’s pairing after MHP/Wilkerson (and probably the only other women’s pairing I rooted for, besides Mader/Verge-Depre somewhat) so it’s such a shame to see them split.    Brunner will take a break from beach volleyball and focus on starting a family (she still has that desire to return), while Hüberli will continue with a new partner.    https://www.instagram.com/reel/DA0nWvZMmnq/?igsh=MXgxcHFvamt3OTc3Yw==

      2016 U20 world champion (800m) Kipyegon Bett , bronze at te 2017 senior world championships, has died yesterday after a month of illness. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kipyegon_Bett   Massive talent in 2015-2017 or so, got caught for EPO and never really competed anymore outside of Kenya after that.

      I read the story a few months ago on an Italian rhythmic gymnastics blog, it all seems paradoxical to me.   Apparently everything is the fault of her mother, who if I understand correctly is also her manager. Among other things, she is supposed to go with the Armenian national team, but her father says nothing is decided yet.   I feel very sorry for Elvira, victim of a situation that is not under her control and which she will pay dearly for, since (rightly) the Bulgarian committee has forbidden her to use leotards, music and exercises. By the way, not even her coach knew anything, she is devastated

      Any idea if Samaneh Beyrami will be going or are names not mentioned yet? I mean, if they've registered for CC and they're sending a woman, it can't realistically be anyone else, but still. She's super friendly so always cheering for her
