But it would be disaster if Manu compete only in one individual.

I am considering Manu to start in both events. We have only one quota in 25m. If we do win another quota in 25m at Asian qualifiers, we will most likely swap it for a quota in 50x3, so that Anjum can take part there while selecting Apurvi and Elavenil/Mehuli in 10m Air Rifle.

One more gold for India. It will be interesting to see them at OG... World cups are not same like OG. But imo they will win at least 3 medals (two in pistol and one in rifle-"SAFE" medals).

Add the 2 mixed events too. Yeshashwini won it in absence of Manu (MQS - 580 easily the 2nd best qualifying) And then we have Abhishek and Saurabh to partner them. Not to forget the unbeaten pair of Anjum /Divyansh in air rifle mixed.

There are no safe medals in Olympics shooting. We were sure about Jitu’s medal in Rio but alas. But, must say this is the best period in Indian shooting. First time we are near the top of medal chart consistently at World level. And hopefully, we would be near top in Tokyo as well. :fingers:

But in my view I was so very impressed with esha in the 10m MQS ..... she is my city girl and beat Manu in the nationals ...... she is just 14 years in her first senior WC. and shot a magnificent 577 ????

I personally do not feel this is very likely ..... Anjum is currently world number 2 in 10 m air rifle why would you swap her 10m air rifle quota away ...... i think if we get a 25M quota in the asians we would swap it for 1) the 10m air rifle mens second quota just in case we do not get this in the asians - this will allow us to field our second mixed rifle team  or 2) fill in the second rapid fire 25 m place for anish / arpit / adarsh if any of them do not make it or 3) select a shotgun shooter / 3 position missed quota in rifle

Any swap has to be in the same gender, so can’t swap any extra quota we might get in 25m Women’s Pistol for 10m Air Men’s Rifle or 25m Men’s Pistol. Our shotgun team is hopeless, so no point in swapping for them.

Anjum is an amazing shooter but personally I believe Elavenil and Mehuli are better than her in 10m. Anjum is clearly our best shooter in 50x3 but I rank her as 4th best in 10m. So, I believe that such a swap would be best for us.

But, let us first wait and win that extra quota and then discuss which swap we should make.

    • Alpine skiing also we have a lot of problems: the men's team is very weak and has been winning a few podiums a season for several years and the our best skier- Dominik Paris is 35. We still have a strong women's team but 3 of the 4 leaders are over 30 (Goggia, Brignone, Curtoni) and Bassino is 28. Another 2 years and we will have the same problem as the men's. There is basically no cross-country skiing without Pellegrino for many years, biathlon is based on 2 individuals with one of them has a 35 years. Vittozzi's injury was enough and we haven`t a single podium this season after 3 stages of the World Cup. As for 1 year to the home games the situation isn`t optimistic.
    • Hail to the Reds... Commanders. First time since 1991 Washington QB has thrown 5 TD passes in a game (which isn't all that improbable in the modern game alas Dan Snyder...)
    • Italy is much better in alpine skiing, in The end all Nations have a Limited Talent Pool. Norway is far better than Sweden/Finland in Cross-Country skiing, alpine skiing and Biathlon, but Sweden/Finland are far better in ice Hockey.  Great Britain wins far more medals than Germany At Summer olympics, but GB is also inexistant in Winter Sports and Most popular Team Sports (Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Ich Hockey).
    • Thanks, great stat! Tannheimer wont turn 20 until August 2025, so she has The whole Season To Join Kristiansen and Neuner. Too Bad that she was ill this week. I think Galmace Paulin and Tänglander could also do it. I think Grotian (born 2004) is The First female Biathlete born after 1999 To make a World Cup Podium. On The Mens side multiple Athletes (Perrot, Giacomel, Uldal) have already done it.   E. Öberg was 22 and a half when she First won.  Dahlmeier was 21 and a half.   Edit: Grotian only narrowly missed The Podium in The Individual at The 2024 World Championships when she was still  19 year old.
