A strong start in pairs for Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps, who are in the gold medal position after the short program with a PB of 77.48! They’re about four points ahead of the defending champions from Japan, which is a good lead to have heading into the free program. Something of note, Stellato-Dudek doesn’t have Canadian citizenship yet which would make her ineligible for the Milano-Cortina Olympics. Hopefully they can continue to progress over the upcoming years so we can have a medal contender in pairs at the upcoming Olympics.
