Skottheim should get her Olympic Chance in the Relay.

Would think Persson, Brorsson, H Öberg, E Öberg in the olympic relay, even if I am not that comfortable with Brorsson in Standing.

Hallie Grossman with 7 misses on the easiest range on the tour :noshake:  @RobtheAggie

Only other woman had more than 4 - Lisa Vittozzi (5).

Grossman is in the WC squad and Joanna Reid is in at the IBU Cup this weekend.  Reid finished in 19th, 2:39 behind with 3 misses.  Not quite sure why Reid stayed in Brezno-Osrbile.

Well I can't see her competing in relay it'll be Oebergs Person Brosson

Skottheim shooting clear is same as 3 spear rounds and 2 penalty loops.

She was at least nominated here for Ruhpolding for the relay. She should also get another chance for the Olympic ticket. So despite the good results of the others today we should actually see Skottheim on Friday.

Could be Magnusson instead of Brorsson too. She is already selected to Beijing but not Brorsson.

Tiril Eckhoff :NOR will no longer compete in relay and pursuit. Instead she will join the rest of the team in altitude training in Italy to prepare for Antholz and the Olympics:

Sprint (Today):

From :SVK view

Assuming the Slovaks will not improve our 199 points, the Japanese must not gain 242 and the Estonians 244 points.

To give you an idea, in the last fifteen sprints the Japanese have reached such points only twice, even very narrowly, and the Estonians only once, when Zahkna literally exploded last week and brought them an incredible 17th place.

Ie. it would be a lot of bad luck for us if both countries manage to do so in Ruhpolding.

The Slovaks could make it even more difficult for their opponents if they overcame the mentioned 199 points, ie a combination of 59th, 61st and 94th places for example, which we achieved in December 2020 in Hochfilzen. We hopefully believe it will be within our possibilities.

Interestingly, while the Estonians know they are basically now playing for everything and god know they are suddenly doing really really well, the Japanese have done very well this entire season so far, but in Oberhof it seemed like they maybe started to have run out of pace, so hypothetically perhaps the Japanese are now a lesser threat....who knows

Relay (Saturday):

From :SVK view

Slovaks need to improve 160 points from 16th place, Japanese and Estonians need to improve 17th place. They will receive 10 points for each higher placement. So hypothetically, if the Japanese didn't get anything from the sprint, they would need an almost unrealistic tenth place in the relay, the Estonians even eighth.

However, after the sprint, the cards are expected to be served again. I will recalculate this again after the sprint.

:SWE Plans to rest both Oebergs in the Relay. Skottheim, Brorsson and Nilsson should all be in this Relay for the last tickets.

:FRA no Bescond

:NOR no Eckhoff

So no real Highlight as I would expected.

    • so, the 2025 season is officially over, after the World Cup Finals have been completed with the Shotgun events, where (once again!!!) a new format for the final stage of each event has been experimented for the first time (before it becomes a regular feature in the next season)   the new format enlarge the starting field in each event's final stage to 8 shooters and dramatically shortens the number of target shots to decide the placings   the only characteristic remaining is the progressive eliminations principle   now, as written above, 8 shooters make the final, where after only 12 targets the eliminations start: by then, the last 2 shooters must leave the competition (7th and 8th ranked)   after 12 more targets (24 in total), 2 more shooters have to leave the final (5th and 6th ranked)   then, the crazy carousel starts: every 4 targets we have a new elimination  so, after 28 targets, the 4th ranked shooter is done; after 32 targets the bronze medallist is known and after only 36 targets (provided there's no need for a shoot-off), compared to the previous 60, the gold and silver medallists are crowned   I guess the tiktok people with the attention span of a chinchilla have won once again
