Nathan Crumpton again!

Not sure what is he still trying to achieve here... He is not doing much of a service to neither American Samoa nor the sport of skeleton. :p

Zohri :INA is the former World Junior Champ.  Or in fact may be the reigning WJC.

Did he fly too close to the sun back then? He has sort of burnt out.

Time to watch the women’s 20km walk. Hoping my nieces can one day compete in this event, both of them won their respective age groups at Irish underage level and one even beat Kate Veale’s national record. Veale was a world junior silver medalist so not a bad target to achieve!

Anyone else noticing the pronounciation of the athletes' names by the lady doing the commentary on the WA YouTube stream? At least a third of the names isn't even remotely near to what it presumably should be, as in, Wrotynski being pronounced Wrotoroski or Comenentia being 'Comentina' :d

Commentators all over the world will be praying Katerzyna Zdziebło does not play too prominent a role in the 20km walk.

Aha, going to be hard to get past the Great Wall of :CHN

Ździebło is one of the most difficult words to pronounce in Polish. It means grass stem in English. There's no way any of the foreign commentators get her name right

It's easier to write than pronounce. I give you 8/10 for the effort :p Extra point for remembering Polish "ł" is "w" in English ;)

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
